So I recently bout a Korg Electribe EMX and am realizing there's quite the learning curve.
I understand alot of the basics to creating trance, but i'm having some trouble producing sounds I want to hear.
Such as making a thick bassline, or crazy wobble bass stuff, glitchs...etc
I just don't know much about the different wavelengths and what LPF, etc. filters apply to them.

I highly suggest reading the mother of all basslines thread in its entirety, or any of the 'mother of all x' threads...they are indeed quite long and sometimes painfully repetitive however there are some amazing gems of knowledge from professional-level artists in there that will undoubtedly help you. (link to those: http://forum.isratrance.com/sticky-most-popular-and-useful-topics/)

Something I see a lot on here is people asking rather open ended questions and making trance is very technical so my advice would be to read up a little more. The socratic method is best....asking the right question is the quickest route to the best (or one of the best) answers but you have to know enough about what you're referring to in order to phrase an intelligent question.

if you want a really professional introduction to digital audio production complete with tons of tricks and theory, check out this site:

http://www.cosm.co.nz/

its the site of Tom Cosm, a guy from new zealand. He provides a step-by-step introduction for relative novices...best $10 I ever spent in my life.

cheers and best of luck with your search for those sacred frequencies

Electribe series is ok, but maybe more for begginers, when you want a realy good sounding thing and with more possibilities, you'll have to hold on something better than that...
i once had a ER1 thinking now i can do magic, but very soon i saw that there's not even an envelope on it:( you can't go making music without envelope and that's only one thing on electribes...
i hope u see what do i mean...

about filters and other stuff, there's nothing to worry about, cause when u get deep into one machine or vst, you'll be able to understand most of them.
