it would be much better if u post longer parts of the tracks.
Nice to hear things in context

yes ,like a couple of minutes into the track.

So its easier to hear all elements in context to eachother.(or did u simply make it just for the processing part u've learned?if so never mind)

Much easier for us to give a feedback

mate,by posting kick and bass that you will ganna change a million times later, you aint gonna suceed anything.try to finish a track,ar at least to have a 5 minutes track and then post it...imagine what this section would be like if any of us would post 1 minute loops from every track that we do.....           Signature:

The sample sounds good to my noob's ears, but it's true that the bass should be a few octaves lower.

Sonica, xrust is right.
Trust me, nothing good will come out of posting kick and bass loops here because if you're unable to tell by yourself whether the sound is good or not, chances are there's still lots to improve (I haven't listened to the sample tho, so forgive my assumption - just personal experience).

What I'm trying to say is train your ears, and that comes with time. Compare closely to released tracks that have similar style bass sound and be honest to yourself. Don't think mastering will make any difference, just view it as a volume booster. Try on different monitors and hifi devices etc etc... in the end, nobody here is going to tell you that your bass is great if you can't hear it yourself. Be glad that you're improving and keep at it, you'll have banging tunes in no time

Groovy, sounds cool in headphones thought you should filter it out some, lower the cutoff.. cause the high freqs/tones really takes over...

i know that squarewave basses can be real hard to mix and they sound great in headphones but way too subby in speakers/monitors...

just get going with the track if you are happy with the bass and fine tune it afterwards... try it at friends systems and so on..

good luck, and i agree with xrust and Inner Demon..

finish the track.. there is no sense to send these 30sec samples of bass lines - use other instruments, commercial tracks and pink noise as reference           ""

I have to agree here, this is a new phenomena with people posting small clips on tracks. I mean i see no purpose in it.

Unfortunatly there is no forum policy against these kind of threads. I just urge you all to keep working hard and perhaps present a full track in the New Tracks section instead.
