I dont like guru since it has only very limited envelopes. ADR.
I look simply for a intuitive fast usable beatslicer with drag and drop ability and select slice via MIDI.
Yes I tried Phatmatic but the zoom suxx and no drag and drop and I dont like it at all.
By now I record phrases with OSR2 and drag them to Battery.
Quite good but not perfect, ...
perfect would include chromatic playable regions.
Ya know, I worked years with a MV8000, and it is unbelievable how complicated are software slicer compared to the MV, usability wise when it comes to resampling and slicing and the time you have ready mapped sliced pieces.
I adjust each slice manually thats why the zoom is so important for me.
In the MV Sample editor you can jump to start and end points even when you are fully zoomed in... thats so much faster than scrolling with scrollbars , zoom in/out or use lil' magnifier glasses ...lame.
The best zoom in software has Halion and IL SliceX.
