Hi mate,

It does sound better, and more like a complete song. Keep doing that until you get your head around how the structure should be, try it with a few different songs.

This is definitely going on the right track.

There are still a lot of empty spaces in between sections, and the energy you now create with the build ups needs the same trade off when it comes back into play.
For instance, you have energy build up but your release is weak - not that it isn't acceptable, but that's all it is...just acceptable. You want to capture some of the high energy you built up and release it properly to engage the listener and rock the dance floor...after all we are making dancing music.

Try to change up the bass line a little to give it more progression, its still all feels quite static.
Keep at it!           http://soundcloud.com/multiv3rse

Excellent l66 your right on

About filling up the gaps the original song has those short stabs and fx kinda leads which i left out. In compared to the original track which i inserted into my daw my song only follows structure not style. My lead is simple and not psychedelic.

So,, Fill in the spaces, can i go wild?? but just follow the MAIN structure of my favorite song?

I noticed the song progresses slower than my previous productions. i hope that will b my main rule when producing "progression"

As for tension and the build ups i can do better,i was afraid to change or add my own sounds to the arrangement.. I will be in the studio today and will post a updated version. i would love to here from you again. I will also do some bass changes.

Hi,

Well those short stabs and effects are whats moving the track along and keeping it interesting. When you leave them out it feels as though elements are missing.

Change it up though, i don't mean flat outright copy and paste the exact same thing as your reference track, just the arrangement and placement of sounds. of course you should make your own, as it is got to be you...your style, and unique.

The slower progression could also be there to build tension, sort of a slow and gradual build of of energy, and maybe even sometimes used to be a little "edgy" and captivating when you don't overdo the melodies and screaming leads etc, thats that all comes down to style and arrangement choice. Do not by any means feel restricted to sticking with the arrangement though, if you feel you can improve on things than by all means do that. as its gotta suit your style - i mean, everyone has different tastes after all.

Bottom line, don't be afraid to experiment. There is also the delete function in your DAW.

What i mean't by it feels "static" is that your sounds and leads still don't have enough modulation destinations yet. Don't worry about styles, you should try and get your individual sounds interesting. Some examples are, filter modulated by an envelope or LFO or you can try that with distortion and some ring mod or frequency modulation, perhaps. The synth leads can also be emulated like a realistic instrument with pitch mod(vibrato), and some pitch bends added, some reverb, maybe a short ping pong delay or chorus...just experiment.           http://soundcloud.com/multiv3rse
