Till now i promoted any one who asked me too and even if i wont like i will do it...
It can help becuase if ur not so well known, or if does and ur contacts are not really reachable or whatever, the release contains all the info, contacts , and tracks to show style.
Internet is most well place that almost any Psy person is surfing and it can be a good stage for artists that are/arent known in labels and stuff...
I dont know bro if it answers ur question but i think there are no needed questions its all obvious
