Your studio gear, and even project name are not really important. Your music is !
You can try sending out demos but most labels don't even listen to them, much less give you feedback.
So you'll have to get to know people and manage to have them seriously listen to your music.

Most labels don't answer, but some do answer and also may play your tunes in parties
And I think most will hear it...well, at least I hope they do...
The best reviews I got for my tracks, and they really helped me a lot, where given by labels to whom I sent demos, and they also played the tunes in parties and told me how crown reacted in some diferent parts, wich was really nice
Totally agree with what u say beru777, gear and project name aren't really relevant, the music is the important bit |

I think mst of the labels will listen to the demos, why wouldnt they? Thre might be any kind of a gem in there! But, if the music is not really good most of the labels will not get back to you, theres just not enough time to get back to everybody. |

Laziness ? Carelessness ?
"theres just not enough time to get back to everybody."
Come on, it takes exactly 15 seconds to send an e-mail, compare that to the effort made by the artist to produce the music and send the CD to you !
Not long ago, a friend of mine sent a demo to Warp Records. He got a negative answer, but got an answer. Imagine how many demos must a big label like Warp receive ?
Now, before founding E-Watt, Toļ Doļ sent demos of "Sustentator" to many labels out there. Not a single answer. Not one, even negative !
So I've drawn my own conclusions about psy labels... I'd love to be proven wrong.

"with all respect but I don't believe Toidoi dind't get any reply....how else did they get an album and some loose tracks released You think the martians took care of it ? "
I'll tell you how because I was there when Toļ Doļ signed most his contracts (the first was with POF records around 1996 for Nataraja 2).
Each contract that he signed was because he had a friend who had a friend ... who knew somebody. When he got tired of this system he started E-Watt records... because we don't see how having "important" friends adds merit or quality to your music.
Now, if you at Inpsyde listen to demos and reply to artists, you have my total respect and congratulations !!!

Thx for the explanation and respect amigo, but I'm sure we're not the only ones @ Inpsyde that listen to demo's of artists, although I agree that some labels don't have a bit of respect and even throwing stuff on the net that they decided not to take...now that is total disrespect, like happened with my buddy Zen Mechanics who sent his stuff to some Israeli labels....won't mention any names but you know who you are !!!
