Phutureprimitive is the moniker of Northwest producer and songwriter Rain. His music is singular and unique in its approach: Lush melodies drift across intricate rhythms, groove heavy beats and warm, fuzzy bass lines. Often exploring a dark and dense palette, his music also manages to convey a sense of tranquility and beauty, engaging the listener into hypnotic movement and often escalating toward a full kinetic experience. Conceived and produced in a digital environment, his music manages to convey more humanity and organic warmth then typically found in an often cold and sterile genre. Shimmering with cinematic qualities, his music ultimately speaks to both the mind and the body. Aside from a string of singles released on various labels, Luminous is the first feature release since his debut album Sub Conscious, which obtained a cult status among fans and collectors due to its timeless nature. "Luminous" undoubtedly continues Phutureprimitive’s legacy sound while pushing it into new territories of emotional electronic music.

"Luminous" transports listeners into a sonic journey through the depths of the secret underground, traversing long hallways of subterranean wonders while offering warm embrace with uplifting and immaculately beautiful vocal cuts from Alyssa Palmer. The EP presents emotive passages through intricately layered textures and expansive soundscapes. This release is another prime example illustrating the timelessness of this veteran producer’s music.

why oh why is Rain using cheesy vocals in his tracks....?

I liked the first song, but the other two I have to agree with O-I. I find the vocals to be very cheesy and really detract from the songs.

The first track is a ripper. Didn't mind the other two. Reckon i'll get it - i don't have much electronic music with vocals. Sometimes it is good to have - especially when playing a set to people not all that into pure electronic music.
