I don't actually know because I haven't received the bill for pressing up the cds but the difference will be the cost of manufacturing the discs plus the time it takes to mail them out. I have chosen to pay somebody to do that for me as I am currently on tour and unable to do it myself but I may decide to take over that role myself when I get back because I like the idea of packaging them up and sending them out personally.

I'm really enjoying the feeling of connectedness I have with this release - I know the names of everyone who has bought the album as I get a report from Bandcamp every time somebody buys it - and it feels a lot more personal. With a traditional label release there are at least two degrees of separation between me and the people buying my music whereas doing it this way it almost feels like I'm standing at a market stall hawking my wares. It feels like a cottage-industry and it is really inspiring.

In the future I plan to offer all kinds of limited editions and hand-made stuff in small quantities because the means now exist for me to do that. I'm looking into a vinyl release of 'Mir' and setting up a Pledge Music page to make that work. It may not be fantastically profitable but now that I'm not having to go through five or six intermediaries it at least stands a chance of not making a loss.

cheers for that

Vinyl would be awesome, as I have just heard back from a mate who still only dj;s with vinyl (plays breaks/dub/dubstep/DnB/Jungle etc.) who i sent a link to Mir & he loved the samples but wants to buy vinyl, so if th eplan goes ahead I'll make sure he gets a link the pledge page

In the end i think the media in which you buy your entertainment on is personal, and like many personal tastes there isn't and doesn't have to be a reason for it.

I like CD's, I personally think it's minimal in contributing to environmental damage compared to more commercial styles of media than what's put out in this scene and overall in the end it's my money & my life & I'll choose how I use it at my will.

Popping on Blumenkraft now whilst I make and bake a banana, walnut & orange zest cake then have a lunch of cheese & biltong
I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

Neither, I'm an Aussie mate I got a very close friend who is from Africa and got me on to biltong when I was a teenager, it's been a staple of my diet since. I buy it from http://biltong2go.com.au/

I'm married to an Malaysian woman, Aussie born, but she & her (RIP) Dad skille dm eup on Asian cooking as well.

So I cook n' eat mainly Chinese, Korean, Indian & African food with a bit of Western cooking (but I find it mostly boring). I've gone back to study @ uni this year so am a stay at home husband doing all the housework and cooking hehe.           I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

Oooh, a fellow H2 voyeur, eh. I do tend to regret not having it with me when I hear something unbelievable. I need a man-purse.

Ooh, a 'murse'.

Rain [Phutureprimitive] has a murse. The mockery has been merciless.

Ahh - only a couple of thousand miles out then. Dunno why I thought you were a Kiwi - I'm very keen on dialects, spoken and written, and I probably picked up on something you said somewhere and mentally flagged you as a sheep-shagger. And before any Kiwis get offended, some of my best friends are sheep-shaggers.

What's the difference, if any, between Biltong and jerky? I'm currently in the States and there is nothing these people won't dry and eat. The salmon and tuna jerky is outrageously good as is the 'fruit leather' they make and sell at street markets.

My mate says it's the way they marinate it. Biltong is air dried with vinegar, and then they put crushed coriander on it. Jerky tends to have a sweeter marinade on it. Also Jerky is done in thinner strips making it more dry, where as biltong is left as slabs of meat and then chopped up making it somewhat more moist in the centre (just the way I like, moist in the centre )           I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

Your life is one long cannabis-induced psychotic episode Jody.

Hope fatherhood is suiting you and you've had more than 3 hours undisturbed sleep since we last spoke.

That's probably why your music sounds so good.

It's certainly taught me a thing or two about dealing with childish egotistical maniacs.

But seriously, it's rewarding, and I enjoy being there for (them!) fulltime, though finding the space-time to meditate and be creative can be a challenge.

Best of luck with the album, hope it tickles the cockles of my dubby soul like the others have.           www.youtube.com/trancevisuals
