TBH the NL4 rack seems to be a better option features/price considered. If they wanted the masses to pay attention, while we are in the middle of a veritable deluge of cheap and fun analog synths, they should have priced it more friendly.
I doubt very much anything nord modular will ever see the light of day again, but if you´re in the market for a faux organ they have something for you
The modular adventure was a loss leader for them as a company. I think mostly because they were way ahead of the modular scene that has since built up. Now would be an excellent time to release such a product, but once burned and all that. It seems to me the demand on the second hand market far outstrips what demand there was when they first released those synths.
I also remember the price being about 2500€ for a G1, not accounting for almost 15 years of inflation.
So they were priced out of reach for most whereas the NL series always had a friendlier price and interface. The NL was their killer app, but they now cater to organ enthusiasts more than to synth heads.

yeah, also doubt they'll ever come up with another one. would be great though. specially if you could connect it with real analogue modules - that would appeal to a lot of people, sort like Expert Sleepers stuff...
