New music release or label model - Ramen Music

Wasn't sure where to post this, mods please move where relevant. I thought it would be a decent discussion topic, at the least.
My nephew has started a 'music subscription' service, where musicians/artists submit their tracks, which if accepted are paid for, and are then compiled for releases and distributed to paying subscribers.

Wondering what you guys thoughts are about this. And, whether it could work for our psytrance community.

If not this, then what else could work for the psytrance community? 
Pretty cool idea. Kinda like throwing a fresh party every two months, with your nephew as the DJ and the organizer. |

Heard the music and its indeed good music.
Since they are talking about 6 issues per year with something like 11 tracks per issue we are talking about 66 tracks per year for just 29 dollars which means 44 cents per track. 25% goes to the label and 75% to the artists. Sounds more than fair to me.
Now the thing is that the music selection falls upon the label owner/manager taste so we are still speaking about something personal. I mean i could subscribe based on the first issue music but the rest five issues might be terrible either because the guys taste will suck or simply because he wont receive any good music to publish. Ofcourse the money is not a serious ammount but still we pay for something based on someone elses taste.
This model has its ups and downs but its something new and innovative indeed. Time will tell if it will work and in order for this to happen the guy must receive great music and keep his high taste so that the model will circulate from mouth to mouth. I really wish him good luck with that.
P.S I like the artists presentation and photos.

fyi artists, they're taking submissions now till Jan 8th for issue #3, paying out $150/track.
Can be previously released.

I think it will be too much of a commitment for people to actually pay the dough if you don't really know what you are going to pay for. People already have problems paying for a track on beatport that they know.
I wish them goodluck though!

It's new and artists don't know this yet.
Wait a bit and when the guys start getting loads of crap music from amateur artists it will flood them and they will be unable to properly select music.
