ello

im dubious about putting up public tracklistings as it takes ages to collect all the tunes, arrange the mix, and i buy all my tunes...have a nice colourful cd wallet!

i have had people steal my sets before!!
they just get a list and download it all.....
this makes me not happy

tunes from - doof, trishula, golden dawn, parvati, sonic dragon, peak records, ketuh records...etc..

if ya want more than that you will have to trawl the samples on the online records shops..

anal, i know, but in the past people have stolen my tracklists!!!

i hope you enjoy the mixes, for more info visit www.badbydesign.com and check the release section in the forum           www.badbydesign.com

stolen your mixes?? like, they have said it was them who mixed them???

If you want to protect your mixes, just add some samples over your mixes every once in a while saying "dj mix by Mr Faster" or something.. I think the artists involved deserve the credit of at least having there names published next to a "promotional" dj mix. after all, they are the one's making the music here and they are the one's who are protected by copyright laws.. even sharing a DJ mix with the people is somewhat illegal, but artists don't make a stink about it simply because of tracklists that help get there name out there..

anyways, do as you please, but i buy all my music as well, have a couple of colourful Cd cases hehehe, but i always post up a tracklist when i post a mix.. its just respect.. what happens after between you and the people who steal your mixes has nothing to do with the artists and they should not be penalized..

great mixes btw.. if it's cool with you, i would like to add them to my psytrance radio stream. ( http://psy.techno.fm ) .. and don't worry, you will get the credit for these mixes. hehehe..

i agree, but i have done this in the past and have been ripped off by people i know who have read the tracklist and then gone out and played all the tunes, in the same order!! it takes a while to go through all the music and pull out what is good and what is not, why should i just hand my tracklist over straight out when i took ages to find, save up money and buy!

i do give artists credit though, if you go to http://www.badbydesign.com and check the releases section in the forum, you will see i post up information about forthcoming and already available compilations and artist albums. If an album is really good and I play it, it usually goes up on this page and is recommended.

free advertising.

If you look at my dj profile i also list most of the artists in my favourite artists section, I will also put a favourite label section there aswell.

i know it is really anal of me but i think if people like the mixes they should go and hunt for the tunes on them, like i had to, and not always be given things on a plate. nobody told me where to find these tunes except the record stores, and by going through the stock of a record store you can find what you are looking for AND a whole lot of great things you just stumble across!

dont download, BUY, its the best way to find new music.

Hello !

I agree with you: 100% mr_faster…..
And nice mix

Well, in all Artists and DJs hosted in the Jukebox, only one gave us his tracks list in the right order (And it was his own tracks) and they were free to put whatever they wanted below the player.
They all gave us a biography with artist’s names (to credit) or logo of label records at the end (which credited that all the artists have worked with the records label).

I have got a different point of view; mixes as the definition, putting the tracks together without a start, with blanks in between, with no end, recorded at once. So tracks can be used out of it. This is protecting the works of the Artists and can’t be recognized or sold as a compilation.
Plus, in my opinion, make it possible, to download somebody’s work who make it for a leaving: this is illegal and we can’t say that a mix it the property of the tracks list Artists.
For me a mix is the creation of the DJ with his own way to drive and power a set.
So sharing your own works as a DJ does not sound like illegal.
Yes, that doesn’t make happy some artists. So it’s better not to make the download possible and only let the audience listen to it (like a radio).

mr_faster if you do agree… I will set up your profile with your mix in the Jukebox too.

Love and light

look, i do not want to get into copyright issues once again here, and like i said, i don't really care if it's legal or not at this point.. I am a dj and i post up my mixes as well, so i am just as "guilty" as anyone..

but Mr psytwin, i do not think you understand correctly what "copyright" law's mean.. maybe in your country, things are different than ours..

Let me give you an example... Ever watch a movie at home on VHS?? you must own at least 1 movie ?? Well, in the intro, there's a big WARNING that lets the people know what copyright law is.. explaining that "any copying or re-broadcasting in part or in whole" <-------- KEY WORD HERE !!! "is illegal"...

I do not see how a mix would be different as it is re-broadcasted in a mix (and its even rebroadcasted in your jukebox)..

yes, please stick it in the jukebox

my opinion is that i just want to protect the time, money and effort that i have put into creating these mixes as a dj. The only reason i am weary of posting public tracklists is from bad personal experience.
However, i do promote the artists within the mix on my website and offer other methods of publicity for them!

I do not see the harm in making someone look a little for a tune should they also want to play it as a dj or buy it, i love to hunt down music, the excitment when you finally find it is exhillarating!!

I live to mix and play music to people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it is my favourite thing ever!!!

anyway, we know its naughty, but the artists also need djs to survive and vice versa, ive played to crowds of 2000+, im sure they wouldnt have minded then....

im glad that you are enjoying the mixes
i had much fun making them
