I've been mastering friend's tunes and recently Elysium's mix of TAE, which made me decide that, if you want cheap masters that don't sound cheap, hit me up.
Acoustically treated studio, a bunch of nice sounding plug ins.
Access to AMS Neve 1073, GML 8200 EQ to put your mixes through (at an extra cost).
But most importantly, I know what I am doing.

Hmm, very nice
I listened to your stuff @ soundcloud, and it surely is some hefty stuff!! Very nice sound and everything. I must say i am very tempted to try out your services.
Maybe you could post some small soundclips or something, demonstrating before/after you do your magic?
Also, since i don't know the 'regular' cost of a pro mastering.. what exactly do you mean by 'cheap'??
Anyways, i wish to thank you for offering your expertise.. I'm off now to work on something maybe worth mastering in the end
Cheers

Thanks, but the clips on soundcloud are not the best example of the work I can deliver nowdays.
We have our next EP on Neurobiotic Records on the 4th of July that I mastered + the Trance Africa Express release that I mastered our remix and Elysium's.

wow DH i have some questions,
i checked out this hardware. wtf 5000€ for the eq?
could you describe how you use this?
do you use it just for mastering, or do you also use
it at the mixing stage? and how it came, that you
decided you need an analog EQ?
and the UAD compressors, how you use them?
arent they useless for mastering sice they are
not multiband compressors, and why do you have
2 of them?

Put sounds through and EQ them just like you would with any other EQ.

I use it on individual sounds as well, but it is especially in the mastering that this EQ shines, when you add top end, it adds this "air" and clarity that is unlike the sound you get from plug ins, and for the bottom end as well, all the stuff that people have said about analog outboard sounding warm and thick, they said that stuff after using stuff like this.

I don't need one. I did not spend all this money to get this stuff, I just started making music with a friend (JP) who owns all this gear and allows me instant access anytime I want to use it.

These are not the UAD compressors these are the real analog compressors that UA modelled their plugs after. No they are not useless for mastering, provided there is not need to use a multiband comp on a mix, on which case I send feedback to the client and tell them what they need to sort out in the mix, or ask for stems so I can sort things out my self.
The Urei compressor is one of the industry standards because of its sound. I need two of them because they are mono. When one orders two they carefully match them so that they sound exactly the same when linked for stereo signal processing.
It is absurd to put your mixes through a 9000euro signal chain, but if one can do that, why the hell would he not?
im sure you know this...:
adding a plugin, using different eq setting etc...
and you are not sure about its sound. dont do stuff
because you feel better. do it, because you hear
what the thing is doing to the sound.
i always try to make some kind of blind tests if im not sure...
last thing was the sonnox Inflator plug in
note when he turn up the effect button lol
"without touching the volume button" and
how it magically gets fatter and more present.
that was the point i was getting sceptical, so i tested
it out with matching volumes (dry/wet). i didnt
hear any difference...
sure i could be wrong (i did not spend much time with it), but at least i do not use a plug in, to feel better.

The GML is an analog EQ tho, that dude did the null test on software EQs.

(sorry for offtipic lol)
cheers
Then you need to spend some more time with it, for example I can go a couple of dB louder using the Sonnox stuff, then say using Logic's native compressor and limiter, without getting the mix to decay to trash.
Nice hefty RMS and a mix that breathes is what you want really.
