Here's some good news from interchill:

"following hot on the heels of “…& so it goes” (released in november 2008), "desert phase" is the latest voyage into global electronica inspired by windswept journeys through the sonoran desert, the thar desert and the northern sahara. for this album seb taylor and natasha chamberlain draw upon their personal experiences of time spent in these 3 deserts to convey the spirit of their mysterious landscapes and their inhabitants.

the album includes many of the recordings captured by seb and natasha in arizona, rajasthan and morocco, from the desert dwelling musicians of jaisalmer to moroccan bazaars and atmospheric desert winds recorded amongst the sand dunes in north america."

The description sound very promising to me. I'm curious how their sound is affected by the spirit of the dessert.

Looks fairly promising. Those samples are far too short though. Must find better samples....           Wait.....What?

This sounds great from what little preview we've been given. I agree with Abasio, longer samples would be much appreciated.

samples via arabesque are all the same time right across the board of all their releases...

how long would you like them to be ?

^Thanks Andrew for the additional info.

About the sample length: If I like the artist or label, I usually don't care about the sample length. But if it's totally unknown to me, i prefer the samples full length or at least about 4 minutes. I think it's impossible to get into the sound if it's too short.           http://my.opera.com/Dopese/

As long as possible! I just think 45 seconds isn't really enough time for the song to fully evolve from start (in a lot of cases music like this has long intros) and samples this short generally tend to cut off just as I'm getting hooked. Then again, maybe that's the point. I like samples of 2+ minutes, the longer the better!

That said, it is what it is. I know KP's work. I like KP's work a lot. I have no problem buying this on short or even no samples.

yeah, i don't need the samples either in this case. usually tho, i'm with TechMonkey, samples at least 2mins. I feel like i've been spoilt with Saiko's 4min samples.

that said, soo enough the samples will be on Saiko and people who want longer samples can make a decision then. considering it isn't even available yet, the length of the samples in current inconsequential.
