Oh yeah! I haven't missed a Virtual release since I missed out on the first Ishvara and Elve. Never will miss another one again! |

There's only 200 of the Ishq cds, so ordered without much thought.
Wish it allowed instant download as well after purchase of the cd. Will just have to wait a couple of weeks...

Flowering Mountain Earth is some beautiful music. Had a little slumber yesterday while listening to it and it brought me to some interesting places...

i just ordered the downloads, i'm not really interested in physical media any more (high cost and carbon footprint, shipping cost and shipping time etc.)

I also ordered the download. I recently got my new Traktor Controller and I don't know if I should order a physical release anymore when I can buy it and get a flac file immediately. On the other hand I also like the feeling of opening a cd for the first time and have a look at the booklet.

^ I only really bought the cd because I already have 3 of the 5 Ishq albums on cd.
I'm currently experimenting with Ableton, with a BCD3000 I borrowed off a friend, and wondering whether I should move from cds to digital mixing. I'm liking the potential of digital but don't know if I have the time to invest to really take advantage of it.
Anyway, that was off topic a little.
I do completely agree with the issues around unnecessary costs to the environment of packaging and shipping, and of the waiting time to have a listen. I guess I am transitioning in this respect to, as I do still like a physical cd to look at. Though these days I tend to buy cds more when they come in a special bespoke-style package, such as Fluid Audio and labels like that.

I think the environmental impact of a 200 CD run is negligible in the grand scheme of things, one that I don't fret over whatsoever.
But this is just me, not saying anyone's wrong. |

yeah, i used to collect cd's, but these days prefer just lossless digital files. i still way prefer vinyl as a "fetish object", but don't generally buy it any more due to not currently owning a turntable, and it having an even worse carbon footprint than cds!
i'm more into collecting rare occult books these days.
the new ishq album is great, i listened to it yesterday. the opening drone type track is reminiscent of the work on skyspaces, and had the interesting effect of sounding very different depending on where my head was in the room. i love tracks that do that!
next on to the new ishvara album, i cant wait! "magik square of the sun" is probably my favourite ishq related release ever, so i am expecting great things!

If I were Matt I'd press 300 copies. Sell 250 of them, wait a year or two, and then setup a Discogs account and sell them for $75 a piece. |
