Haters gonna hate.
He played some new Shpongle material a few weeks ago here in Israel it wasn't much but it was fucking great.
Younger Brother's 3rd album is great as well. Obviously not for the hardcore crowd that still await for their Hallucinogen circa 95' fix. But a great Pop-Rock album none the less.

I think for him is a big challenge to make a 3rd Hallucinogen album, fullfilling afns expectations, and his own wishes for it.
Hope he will devliver.

I am by no means a Simon P. fanboy, I admire his tweaking and sound design skills, love some tracks he did, like a bunch, and don`t like a lot of them either. In short, I think he is a good musician, but in no way the god everyone makes him out to be.
But, I totally understand why he is so reluctant to put out a Hallucinogen album. He knows himself he is not godlike and there is nothing in the realm and limitations of "Psytrance" that can be so revolutionary and groundbreaking that it could justify the expecations. People expect him to save the genre with one strike of genious, and he knows thats impossible. Thats why he explores new ventures where he can set the rules and expectations and is not limited by "genre rules".
Plus its probably a lot more fun to start messing with new styles, like play with Jam-Band musicians where for a change he can look up at them in terms of skills...

I am no Simon fan either and I can count on one hand the tunes I really like that he has done. But there is a chance that he does not care to make a 3rd album to "save" the scene. Maybe he just still likes to make music in his studio regardless of what people expect from him? At the end of the day a lot of people make music they just like them selves, without worrying too much about their fan base.
Peace out.

I think this makes sense.
I think Alien Jesus are doing the same (they are good musicians individually IMO)
