Definitely. See V3noms love of the new YB and my extreme dislike.

I knew it was too good to be true that someone could release so much stuff that really connected with me, consistently, for such a long time. Had to end sometime.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

I have been talking about it! It's great. 2010, Rush and the last 3 tracks stand out to me. I can imagine the main character in American Psycho busting some moves to Rush. It's so 1980's. Love it.

I don't think Hallucinogen 3 is going to sound like the previous 2. But I do think it's gonna rock my socks off. I'm excited.

I should certainly hope it doesn't sound like 1 and 2. That was for that time and era.
I don't expect anything. We'll see.

With rain on the window, 3AM on a late Vancouver night I am listening to ... and the day turned to night.

God damn it this guy has talent. Imagine all the unfinished, half-finished awesome tracks he must have scattered around that we will never hear.

Yidam, I agree. Check out Audio Chemists - Big Tits. Big hit too.

Not nearly as good and especially, psychedelic, as CoM, imho always.

Great tune. But its dancefloor drive has more to do with Joti more than Simon, imo.

P.S. I like Strangled Cat, although the cat sounds puts me off. He should have done the kitteh at the intro...imo

Peace out.

I expect the new "trend" mixing full on with psychedelic aka Ibiza style. A bit like KoxBox did on the last album. IMO awful. But maybe he surprise me. I doubt it though.

Somehow a lot of the older artists think they have to please people with these god forbidden awful fullon references in their music. IMO "fail". But taste is taste

BUT let's see if there will be any release at all           www.beatagency.dk

I doubt he will go down the trendy full-on road. He hasn't really done anything in the past that would point to such a turn...and its not like he needs the cash, from getting such gigs.
Not saying money is why other did make trendy full-on, maybe they just liked that kind of music.

Peace out.

Well let's see. His friends are down that road (Raja Ram too) and he also seem to spin quite a lot of those kind of tunes himself (Haven't heard it myself but been told). It's all about fame on stage mate. You know that

I have no doubt that cash and fame on stage played a major role in especially the Ibiza mafia's choice in musical direction. Otherwise they totally abandoned their older visions of music and took a u turn in vision and taste.          www.beatagency.dk

Raja Ram had been playing cheesy stuff for years tho. I was not surprised to hear him play that kind of full-on. Simon I haven't heard play like that....then again last time I saw him live was at them Twisted parties at the Rocket in London...like 7 years ago...so I have no clue what he plays nowdays.

And talking about tastes is not objective. For example you've been getting some flame from your old goa-die-hard fans for your productions of new. I like the old Sheyba sound, I like the new Elysium sound. Who is to say whose tastes are "right"?

Even tho from my subjective point of view, the cheesy full-on stuff, sucks major balls.

Peace out.

I haven't had any complaints about my new 2009 versions of the old Elysium tunes. On the contrary. But then again I am sure there are people who don't like what I do. That's taste

I am sure there are those who think I have abandoned goatrance (I never said my music was goatrance anyways) because I am more active with House and downtempo these days.

I did get a flame-war over choosing your remix of Trance Africa Express from some die hard neogoa artists who claimed i had to chose one of their remixes instead ha ha

My whole point was that money (as in gigs) are a big inspiration to the Ibiza mafia and also to Simon. I have known all of the Ibiza guys (now we leave out Simon as he does not live in Ibza) for years and had many good times with them and discussed music with them many times. And yes we all evolve BUT they do need to maintain a certain lifestyle (they dont hold a day job) and they wont be able to generate the same amount of money if they as an example started to experiment with their music (unless they get booked solely on their name and not the music). Their sound is full-on Ibiza pop and based on my experience with them I seriously doubt they really love what they do. But they love their lifestyle. Who wouldn't

Back to Simon. I hope he will experiment but having listened to his latest output "Shpongle Feat. Benji - The God Particle" I am afraid it will be very disappointing IMO as this was intended to be a step toward experimental psychedelic trance but IMO totally failed. And let's not mention this "strangled Cat" tune

I admit I am not a huge fan of Simon's late work. I loved his album "Twisted" and the first Shpongle album. But seen in the light that so many of the old artists have disappointed (IMO) I won't get hopes up.

But again this is based on taste and I am sure many many people will love what he puts out. Some of them just because of his name
