I've heard of a possibility that simon posford will finally release another trance album after more than 10 years. Does anyone know when it could possibly happen?

I could see the scene exploding again if he does!

Scene has already exploded (and continues to explode with or without him)

I think he's been doing that every week since the lone deranger.

I kind of get the impression that he doesnt have the passion for trance anymore although he keeps threatening to bring out a hallucinogen 3, I don't think it's going to be as ground breaking as his first 2. Not only would it have been way too over hyped, but it's taken so long. Also he does the shpongle/younger brother stuff waaay better than he does trance.

I'd be quite interested to see what Simon can do with a 3rd Hallucinogen album, but I have the feeling that we may have to wait a while yet and I think if it finally does come out it will leave many slightly disappointed. I wasn't that impressed with his recent 'Strangled Cat' tune posted up on myspace recently, it seemed to lack the edge and wobbliness that characterise his older tunes. However when I saw him play at last years Twisted Live event (the Sphongle Dj set) he was playing a couple of Hallucinogen tunes and some 4x4 tracks that sounded incredible which I didn't recognise so it seems that he has a few unreleased tunes up his sleeve which he is testing on us. Has anyone else noticed some unreleased stuff live recently ?? Either way, there sure are a lot of us dreaming of a new album

Exploding... hahahaha

Every single organizer/label manager i talk with around the world keep complaining of how bad things are and that they are loosing crowed each party and each release sells less.

So it sounds more like implosion then explosion if you ask me...

And i think we will see a new shpongle album before a new hallucinogen.          On 2011-03-08 23:13, moki wrote:

at first place the music sells less everywhere due to the piracy and more and faster internet connections which allow the donwloading.. that;s trend for severeal years and every music type suffers of that, (self working in cd/dvd ,manufacturing business) nothing to do with the scene.
well every festival makes less crowd (i thought Boom was sold out this year which never happened), to name a few Antaris pr. in germany after 2 or 3 years arround 2000 visitors, this year arround 6000. so don't think there is any implosion, just think that few years ago there were a couple of bigger festivals arround, now from june to september you can find every week one big event. or take a look at Brasil or Mexico for example. results more festivals, more music people get divided, as in the beginning there was only goa.

as back on the topic i also think there will be no Hallucinogen albums more.

I interviewed Simon a few years ago (Feb06) when he was working on the Metal Sharon & Younger Brother projects. At that time he was saying that his next project was likely to be a Hallucinogen album. Here's the relevant bit...

Any plans for more Hallucinogen tracks? How do you keep your live set fresh for yourself when some of the tracks are a decade old ?

I am moving into a new house soon, where I will get the 3rd Hallucinogen album underway... the last few years I have enjoyed working on collaborations, but I feel an introspective phase coming on, where I will retreat into the studio on my own and get lost in the hallucinogenic world... it is hard to keep my live set fresh, but I can at least throw in some of the trance collaborations I have done...Hallucinogen in nature, if not by name...

Is that the end of Shpongle?

There are no plans to do another Shpongle album... but I would love to do a live DVD one day... but never say never! Also raja and I will continue to work on other projects together...

The next album then turned out to be the 3rd Shpongle album!!

I wasn't that surprised as I got the impression that he was a bit bored of trance - especially just doing stuff on his own - but people kept offering him silly money to go and do Hallucinogen sets all over the world!

So who knows...

because of the work he has done for psychedelic music scene.... IMO pretty fair for Hallucinogen to get this kinda 'hype'           We were born naked & grow up to become wicked.
