whoa this is a great sounding freeware!!
Uses a bit of CPU tho, before i turned off the gfx enhancement it was hitting 40% on one of the presets....!!
Turning off the 3d stuff brought it down to more reasonable levels
Pretty good synth and has that nice clean 'clear plastic beads in vibrant colors' sound that sold me on Zebra.

Ive been using this one quite a bit just since my last post, and Im really loving it more and more!
Its really got the same feel as the Zebra, but without >9000 different things to tweak, which while really cool and what I love about hte Zebra nonetheless also means a lot of work, and a lot of variables that may affect the sound (I had it all great the other day only to find each time I pressed the same key it played a different note, and had to go thru and turn off/on all the different things to find the cause). The Tyrell doesn't have that, which means getting it set up and sounding good doesn't take so long I forget the original reason I started up the DAW or something like that.
About to try a CPU-use test between the Zebra and the Tyrell to see for sure but I think the Tyrell uses quite a bit more.
Edit; WHOA HOLY MAFLOGGOS... pressed about 12 keys at once, in the default preset, of the Tyrell then the Zebra. Tyrell used >45% of this dual 2.5ghz-core processor. The Zebra didn't even go into double digits. The Zebra default, in Tyrells defense, likely has much less modules in between the initial tone, but still........ . |

>45% cpu on a single patch?
holy shit. I can run like....5 instances of Omnisphere (which is not super lightweight by any means) concurrently and not get near to that o.O

I know I was o.O
But there it was...
Damn fine piece of work despite that...
Does make me wonder wtf the thing has going on under the hood.
Im running a Pentium dualcore-2.5ghz in a stock Dell with 3gb RAM. Display effects and neat gizmos are turned off and i was doing the comparison in Live 7. If u were asking me woodster77
