Awesome. There's a really good thread at muffwiggler about it with response from Pym who works at DSI.
Anyway I was thinking of getting the MiniBrute LE to work with my modular but now I think I'll save longer and get this. It looks great, and I love the Prophet 12's sound but it's too expensive. I'm sold.

Two grand...sounds good though and great CV I/O.
Still tho, two grand for a mono/paraphonic synth with only digital oscillators, seems very expensive.

Digital vs analogue. Tired old argument. If it's a quality build, sound and cane be the central control synth for a studio this doesn't matter to me.
I can say now that I've owned both a DSI & a Moog I prefer the build and style of controls on DSI to Moog. Actually more and more I'm finding Moog to just not interest me at all.
With my intellijel Atlantis & Metropolis + DSI Pro 2 not much more except some fx needed.
There's nothing poly wise out there really grabbing me. I'm hoping Arturia might step up in this field in the near future.
Would buy a PolyBrute in a flash!

i liked the slim phatty, might get it back one time, but the sub phatty is not my cup of tea, selling it. the sound of the evolver i really like but the desktop is a pain to program so sell evover and the sub and really considering the pro2, dave's video is a very good salespitch for what i like, the sequencer is cool

The sequencer and the filters got me. plus I love the knobs etc. from the Prophet 12 & Mopho LE so this should be nice as well.
Sub Phatty is a load of trash. I paid $899 new for it and have had so much trouble selling it for $750 since. most boring synth ever. An analogue toy.

you can perhaps find a Mono Evolver Keyboard (discontinued) on second hand market! I feel the desktop Evolver doesn't cut it because of the interface, but this one does and it's one hell of an hybrid!
I'm with Nectarios on this one: it does sound and look good, sequencer looks nice but seems way to expensive to justify it. Plus, you can get Curtis filter elsewhere for Euro Rack. but I can see how this can be appealing to those thinking 'bout using it as main keyboard and connectivity on it is a big big plus. |

Having both analog and digital synths, this would be something that I would look into, if I was on the market for a fixed architecture synth.
But 1750€ buys me lots of eurorack modules, I am currently drooling over.

I still think the Evolver is one of the most interesting hybrids since the Oscar, to be honest. The signal path is quite original, you can do all sorts of weird sounds once you dive in - some of them you can't believe it's coming from a mono synth, because of the separate stereo signal path along with the delay, cool for some modular sounding weird fx and all. The Poly was to expensive, more so then a Prophet I think (??), but the Mono Evolver is a nice compromise and seriously think it was a bad move to discontinue it - and a very good one to grab one of those. Feature wise, I like it more then the Prophets to be honest, except for the connectivity on this one, but the range of sounds is (presumably) much more extensive, more suited to synth enthusiasts. |

looks like a really interesting synth.
actually the first dsi synth that i really like, sounds better (to me at least?) than the prophets (could be the demo as well) and has some seriously cool features!

Well, that's fair enough. I'd take this over the new Nord Leads, or a Virus TI for sure.
