about grounding:

...don t get in touch with the mobo unless u know what u do...(...but for shure it works fine !)

--> doesn t have your main-plugs in israel 3 pins ? (...the plug power-supply to "main-socket") -one of these is the ground...normally the one in the middle...
make an connection with "any" metal/wire to the case.

Mike & Medirium,

Tho I ain't no electrician, but the grounding is not an ordinary grounding which u already have but xtra one for the static electricity in ze box itself that can cause hummin'. Xcept of that the feature that is quite impressive is it's ability to block most of the CPU noise ( AMD big minus is it's noise )

Mike, the tower ain't THAT expensive...

I bought:

AMD Athlon 2000+
Gigabyte GA-7VAXP motherboard
1 Giga ram
The box itself

for 3200 nis. If u will buy the same with 512ram u will pay something like 2800 which is not THAT expensive, dont u think?

...i m not electrician too (...i m "physician assistant"/technician ) and i know a bit about it, so an extra-ground is never bad.
though it could be that there is something different...i guess with filters if yes..
but what i don t understand is how this should effect the noise...?!

There are several noise types that better without them in the mix such as white noise and pink noise. Hum is another fenomena that many times fucks up the mix, it has low frequency constant thing and is caused mostly by static electricity or inapropriate ( or lack of ) grounding

and Superglue,

That what I was advised by ppl that I hold their opinion as best...

Me, I dunno shit in computers

But to set the record straight, I'll sum up what it has in it:
VIA KT400 ; AGP8X/4X ; FSB 333/266/200 Socket A 3 DDR DIMM ; ATX 6-Channel Audio ; 4 ATA 133 ; LAN ; RAID ; 6 USB 2.0 ; 3*1394 ( that means 3 firewire ports )

That is good enough for me          A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

I don't think that extra ground is good.
In fact if you want to refrain from noises in your sound signals you should have 1 ground only to all the circuits. It's very important issue in Digital based studios! :znaika           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

Ninja - the fact is, extra ground cant be bad!
So if u go on from there there are only plusses to it with no minuses, cause it can't cause any damage whatsoever

Good evening.

The national grid provides all our houses with an alternating current at 50 cycles per second (Hz).
So that 50 Hz frequency is what hum is, not static electricity. Using a sharp notch fillter at 50 Hz gets rid of this noise.
In the USA that frequency is 60 Hz just because that is how their national grid works.
Two (or more) grounds in a circuit will sit at slightly different voltages, causing electron flow known as earth loops. Even if these voltages are insignificant, small resistance in the circuit will allow big amounts of current to flow through, causing loud noise.
Having one common ground for the whole circuit will eliminate earth loops.

Peace.

That's what i meant to say exactly but was too tired.
Cheers.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me
