z3ta and fm7 should give u plenty of timbres u will not get with 303-alike synths like tau and basic stuff like vb1           http://www.dartrecordings.co.uk/

I use "freebass" and every bass in my work sounds amazing in the mix and very "gum taste"

I don't think software is good for bass , if this is what u look for...because bassline is one of the most basic line in the track and it's very important to make it quality !

You most be kidding !
VB1?!

hard to believe you actually mention this crap synth !
VB 1 is one of the silly synth I ever heard !

if you look for good bass , look harder OR look hardware.

Actually the VB1 is nice if you're looking for "another" bass that doesn't sound like everyone else. Dull basses can be great when you handle them right.

I like the plugins of logic Es1 and Esm, but of course when i have the option to buy a hardware bass-synth like "freebass" that Slomi talk, i bought with any hesitation.

sup jacky?
i think VB can give u the right answer but u need to eq it and use the right instruments on it .
u will be in shock when u will see how many type of great basslines u can make from it...
and im pretty sure that u got the same problem like everyone ....
