That's quite cheap.
May I assume they're a class below the Adam A7X's then? |

From the looks of the video they seem to be quite small...I wonder how the lowend will sound there.
My guess: Like the lowend of all the other small and quite cheap ones....
  My first track:

and aren't reflex ports very often said to be shitty and more trouble than they're worth?

Yes and no, it all depends in the design. the thing with ports is that they are used to create a resonance at a frequency the speaker's response starts to drop off, in order to extend the bottom end response of a small LF driver.
Some companies get it better than others, but the general problem is that you get that "tuned" frequency of the speaker in your mixes.
My secondary monitors (Alesis M1 mkII actives) suffer of this as well, but I do use them as they sound quite "hi-fi"ish and lots of people listen to music through hi-fi speakers. A good way around it, it to put socks into the ports. There will be less bass, but it kills the problem.
Peace.

i did it for many years back in 2003 for my shitty m-audio bx8a.. socks helped alot in the bass area.. i didnt listen much in the bass area... but the energy and duration of the bassline was much clearer when mixing!
thats why my next monitors will be closed cabinets.. like the acoustic energy ae22

seems kind of weird to spend a whole bunch of money on monitors only to stuff some socks in them.
I mean, I would expect them to provide some high tech super socks at least
