ok so im a bigot against fast trance.

maybe i could learn to be more tolerant if it weren't such a frikking trend...

the pimply testosterone thing was not why i got into this thing and i resent the whole trance movement who resisted the commercial wave being sucked into the beavis-n-butthead wave...

we went dark when the commercial thing went plastic-happy-fake

we go joyous when the dark-plastic-cynical-paranoid-pose is the norm...

either way its about getting out of the trend and into the heart of the matter.
humans, emotions, thoughts, spirit, matter, sound... whatever - hope you know what i mean.

whoops
im starting to confuse things.... heheheh
fast trance with dark trance...

maybe im just tired of seeing cynical angry tough looking people in very fashionable clothes being cool and acting... just acting... not being REAL
and maybe i associate it too much with the music that may have been playing while they stood there...
or maybe they were standing there cynical because they thought the same thing "cant dance to this its too fast" and therefore looked tough and angry.

ok i better research a bit better before i rant more....

but i like clear clean intelligent sounds and im very very sorry to have made any noisy music over the years

i started to experience my first waves of tinnitus this week...

take it easy on the volume guys. thanks

russian is very great on this, at last neurotrance is Zolod's trademark
Neurotrance - maximum surprises per minute.
brief discription we can in archives of his site http://web.archive.org/web/20050405201501/www.dejavu.su/en/Main/MainPage/Main.html

the first cd i remember in that style was VA - I'm A Program

and, btw second Fabirque http://www.vertigo-records.com/images/luminokaya/psypoligraphy/Neurotranceyoga1.jpg
labeled already as Neurotrance Yoga
- an excercises ?

so, the tradition is very strong and you can still find it in some CPC, Kraft and maybe not so bright, but fresh artist Pantomimian, who's tallent just now is in shadows.

as for me it was last person who understands what it is all about.

rest in peace.

Daydreaming activates the same parts of the brain that are used in solving complex quandaries..

no,i dont think you have to be sorry for making any kind of music. you may now realized that you want to change your speed and emotion but you really don t have to care if you bothered a few ears.. you said what you wanted to say and now, move on. why be sorry?

cheers

I'm wondering what Xolvexs is comparing to.

I can't help but feel that a lot of the movement towards higher and higher tempos and negative, scary, ugly samples and sounds has been just a reaction to the mainstream cheese-fest... and as such, is really just as much a product of following trends (but in the opposite direction.) I'm not saying that this is the case with all darker artists, and I don't have a problem with dark music - I grew up listening to industrial, hardcore punk, and break-core (Venetian Snares is still one of my favorite musicians of all time.) But it really seems like a lot of modern psytrance is trying so hard to scare away the candy ravers, it has completely lost it's identity.

I guess this sort of thing happens in all "intelligent" genres of music, and I really find it annoying... IMHO, as far as creativity and artistic merit go, being Anti-Pop is really just the same as being Pop...

@ Axis Mundi:

I don't feel like any individual (myself included) can or should define what psytrance's identity was/is/should be... I think one of the reasons that I love it is because it is so multi-faceted and diverse in what it is/can be. But I don't like when the scene (or at least a part of it) starts to derive it's identity from being "anti-" something, rather than simply being the expression of the creativity/vision/effort/community/etc. of the producers, DJs, organizers, dancers, etc.

I understand that all cultures are inevitably going to develop in relation to what they are surrounded by, and lots of really great art has been inspired by opposition to things that the artist felt were harmful or evil - John Lennon's "Imagine", for example. But one of the big reasons psychedelic music is so special to me is because it tends to focus more on the pure creativity of the artists - sorta like the difference between sci-fi and mainstream fiction. For me, the best psychedelic music strives to create a new and unique experience for the listener, in much the same way my favorite sci-fi writers create entirely new universes in which to tell their stories.

I just don't like it when I go to a psy event wanting the amazing creative journey that I get from my favorite psy/goa artists, and instead just get an "anti-rave".

...but I guess I should heed my own words, cuz I'm sorta being "anti-anti" at this point           Psytrance DJ sets-->
