Anyone know what happened to this guy? He's from Philly I believe, and produced some very deep hypnotic stuff for acid casualties back in 00-01.
just went back into my back catalogue, and I listened to his stuff. I want more!!!

scratch that. The board is experiencing technical difficulties in the general section (re-routes to main site for some reason). Carry on with your replies

Eh, it's fine to post here. If the guy you're asking about is from Philly you might have some luck posting here. You might also check discogs...
too late, I did it for you http://www.discogs.com/artist/Neum

Now you got me listening to clips from his releases here http://www.saikosounds.com/english/show_artist.asp?artist_id=1521
Funny that this guy from Philly produced really nice progressive, released on pretty big labels for the time (Flow, Midijum) yet to my knowledge is relatively unknown. I mean, compared to all the hype artists from the states get these days, even if they've barely eeked out one track.

"John DeCaro grew up in Philadelphia surrounded by music and professional musicians."
Doing a little research, looks like he played Gaian Mind festival back in 2002, which is about the last year he released something.

Awesome Allen. Hope he'll respond. The US needs to nurture its talent, there's not a whole ton of us here who are producing the psy-bootay, and IMO he's one of, if not the 'original gangsta' of US prog psy.

hmmmm...the last I spoke to him he was moving into a different musical direction, a little more on the funky side, perhaps a little more "housey". no mr. decaro? But it's been over a year since we've seen him at a Gaian Mind monthly. I would certainly like to hear what he's been cooking up!

Hello everyone,
I was very surprised to see a link to this thread in my inbox. I would have never imagined that there was still interest in my neum project. I really appreciate the support and kind words.
Unfortunately, the neum project is pretty much dead. I began to experiment with different styles of dance music a few years ago, but somewhere along the line I just ran out of time to produce anything. I have recently started producing again, and hopefully, I can find enough time to get a new project going.
Thanks again for your support. If there is enough interest, maybe I will post some of my last neum tracks on my crappy old website.
