i dont think it is totally night oriented , its jus pure psychadelik muzic till the end ..we have bpms varying from 144 uptill 170 .. its quite balanced already .heheh ..cummon man there is enough ringa ringa rozie hapenning at all festivals and parties across the world . we need some serious underground muzik mate , some real madness on the floor! lot of work and time to create this lineup .. jus come and xperience this 3 day story for urself ,u'll kno

both you fellas have valid points. the lineup for this festival is definitely the kind aimed to please the veteran psychedelic mind. no doubt that it's going to be the freakiest dancefloor of the year.
from the balance point of view though things are tipped a bit heavy on the mind. multilayered inputs for 3 days... it'll definitely flush out everything but the point of a true gathering is also direction. usually it's created by switching between 2 sides. night & morning. implosion & explosion. destruction and rejuvenation. as the scene progressed deeper into psychedelia those lines got blurred (in terms of music) ... IMO the solution to which is to create spaces and situations that allow people who have their heads opened up to explore the moment.
things that can do this ...
- workshops... especially yoga, sound healing, chakra massages, painting
- social areas... drum circles, fire circles, swimming holes, cave gatherings.
- chill-out stages ... (most underground festivals like this one are always tied up with chillstages that focus on more instrumental, ethnic laid back sounds... check out the ex-lineups for psycrowdelica and armageddon)
so instead of asking pushing demanding... think a bit more about what you can add to this rather than take. lineup is solid... but as the community I don't see much being done. Organisers are not responsible for making "the best festival" ... their job is creating the infrastructure for YOU to make it work. All everyone demanded was a killaar lineup and they've got it... whats next ? whacha gonna do ? dance competition ?

Yes Yidam. U do have valid points. As for the lineup... we are not quite done yet. Something more to please the morning lovers too.
As far as the more downtempo/ethno side of the music is concerned, we would be having local ethno-tribal music performances in between breaks. All of this information would be furnished while nearing the festival date.
Unortunately we work on a budget so it is quite difficult to get another pool of artists for the chillout stage. Also there aren't tht many chillout djs around the subcontinent as far as my knowledge goes.
The advantage Europe has is tht all the countries are very close by. So its easier for the orgs there to fill up spaces and get whomever they want. Plus some of the artists themselves play chillout sets so tht makes it easier, unlike us where we pay quite a lot for just one ticket. (We do have some artists who do play some chillout though). This can be quite an expensive affair for us, unless people are volunteering to come on their own to be a part of this, which i think not many would. But you do have a good point, and i think we would look into it next time.
Regarding stalls, there would be quite a few this year. I have also mentioned earlier in the thread that we are inviting people to put stalls for a very economical price. There are a few enquiries coming in, apart from the ones tht are already scheduled to be there at the fest. So people interested can still contact me here or email at rodney (at) shantijatra.comAnybody interested to put up a stall with regards to yoga, meditation, clothing accessories, tattoo artists, labels etc. please do get in touch with us immediately.
In the end i'd like to point out that the most important thing apart from the music, is the gathering. For which i think we do have a pretty balanced lineup though it tilts towards the heavier side. And we wld like you to come with an open mind and all your creative inputs and suggestions are welcome to make this event more memorable for you.
As always, we would like to also thank u all once again for the wonderful support shown to us since the last installment.
Peace.

UrbanPsySpirit, a couple of points.
- Chillout stage ... you're totally on the ball. Main problem stems from the fact that there are not many chill DJs this side of the world. We've been trying to do chill stages too and its actually been harder than working out the mainstage. Well worth it when its finally successful. Best way in this situation or the future would be to have a small sound system set up in a remote corner of the location with very few DJs and/or chillprojects of the mainstage performers playing every few hours... if you find it worth your while to budget it into the whole experience of course.
- Stalls ? Stalls are for vendors! this is not about coming and setting up. my post was to get people to come and be proactive off the bat. no give-take. just give. Workshops are created by people who've usually been in the scene for many years and who want to share their meaning of it all. The vibe is very different than a stall. Workshops need an open area designated to meeting up, art displays, etc... usually covered on the ground and above. Thats once it all comes together .... to get there people have to start wanting to run a workshop.
anyway ... I didn't intend that the organisers to respond to my post... you guys are doing your job very well. I'm just curious to read something from attendees other than "killah lineup"... if it's about the gathering it would be nice to know what kind of people would be part of it and what the south-east asian psytrance community really intends to be.
PS ... side-note to the oversensitive ones. this critical observation stems from the fact that we've just come out of some very small but united psytrance festivals out west. The India/Nepal scene is way older than that but it still seems to be far behind when it comes to community building. so please speak up ... its been 41 pages of whoo hoos... let's hear what people intend to do this time.
Also think that a strong bond was created between people during SJ07... the fire core exists already ... next come layers of meaning.
