Ok, now this is my backup road-trip plan... If anyone is interested, do PM me..
We leave Delhi on 11th. It takes 16 hours by train/bus to go from Delhi to Gorakhpur. From Gorakhpur, we take a bus to Sunauli on the Nepalese border. From Gorakhpur to the border towns of Sunauli/Bhairawa is a two or three-hour bus ride.
A short walk across the border and you're in Nepal. Then we take a bus from Sunauli to Kathmandu. Buses leave regularly in the morning up to around 11 am and from 4.30 to 7.30 pm. The bus ride from Sunauli to Kathmandu takes 9 to 12 hours.
We reach KTM by 10am on 13th Oct'08... hehe!! It could be a bit tiring, but its my backup plan. I wont go alone, on a trip like this. Dont wanna get bored.. Anyone interested? |

done this last year, this year would be pretty much same except for taking bus from Gorakhpur-Sanauli-Kathmandu, we would be arranging cabs/tempo traveller as buses are fukdup....... this is my suggestion mate & i would be doing it this way as well.
