yes you can assign almost anything
don't forget in logic pro X when you press Alt + L
you have the option to Assing anything .
if you want to buy good midi controller this is the one for sure .
in my opinion this is the best midi on the market
plus really fun to using Ulatabeat to shape the PERC

sorry brother i replied when i didn't use "Sum1"
it not working but you can do this and it will work great just fallow this instructions .
1. put some reverb or anything you like on the main bus "sum1" and bypass reverb.
2. press on show inspector the button next to "compare"
press learn in the inspector then Assign it to anything you like .
3. press ALT + L and learn the button in the reverb
smart controller .
done !
now you can use your smart controller on the bus "SUM 1" to control ultra beat -------------------------------------------------

ok brother after playing with it i founding what you need
1. move the smart controller then press ALT+ L
2. move the midi Knoks in your midi controller
then change the option in Channel Strip just change it to Software instrument like in this pic
