yossi..
Ive got some xperience on the MS & its nice but one leauge beneeth the big ones (also in price).
Without the specs i can only say that I would look 4 another synth- i find it kinda "fluffy".
Its a really "soft" synth(not software)- the sound.
JP8080-FOREVER!

I don't own an MS 2000, but its sound is great! I don't agree that the MS 2000 is one league beneath the big ones. The sound is great, but the big problem with this one is its 4-note polyphony, which is quite lousy.
If you intend to play it live, than it's a good option for you, but if live playing isn't the main purpose, than i'll recommend you another low-budget option: The Roland SH-32. It's a relatively new synth, a re-creation of the famous SH-1 with a lot of new features. You should check it yourself; As with all of Roland's products, the SH-32 is sold in Halilit and costs less than 4000 NIS. It's only 4-part multi-timbral, but if you'll work in audio it won't matter anyway.

Okay.. I own a Korg - Ms2000 Synth and have used some sounds from it in quite a few of my tracks...
The thing that sucks if your recording Midi... you cant really record two many tracks because its not multi timbral, so you have to record all the sounds in time as digital audio...

About the sound.. it has some really nice sounds if you just twist the knobs here and there... There are so many friggin knobs on that thing to get it figured out on how to create each sound takes a while...but its not the everyday sound its unique in its ways... and have some really nice presets which are highly tweakable, It has some nice soft sounding pads... as well as the really gritty, agressive, distorted sounds , as you may know if you've played with it... It is a good synth no doubt, if you are liking the sounds and think its the sound you want in your music, then go for it... but there are also other synths as you may know of which are being used day to day on most of the tracks, nord lead, virus, jp8080, the standards... if you have any questions leave me a msg ;) good luck
