yeh page 169 for the FX programming. When i first bought the book I was like...this shit sucks...then I got some more synth knowledge and went back to it a couple more times, certainly a lot of the stuff in there is completely useless for psy-trance purposes, but there's some good stuff too.
oh and yeah, forgot to mention the LFO was modulating the filter and not the oscillator. If you modulate both it usually turns it into a muddy mess.
If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Ah, yes that was it. After removing the LFO also from the OSC the sound became far better....really kind of 'zippy' now

would you mind explain what you mean by workin it to pieces...
``We shall not cease from exploration - And the end of all our exploring - Will be to arrive where we started - And know the place for the first time.``

My guess what he means:
bounce the part, put it into an audio track and work from there.
You can chop it into pieces and try different effects on different parts or you reverse things, add effects and reverse back.
I think its stuff like that...by offline processing he prolly means to edit the bounced .wav in another programm like wavelab, audition or something similar...
These are only guesses by me (still a bloody noob^^), but thats the way I do it now and I had quite a few successes with that. Some new weird sounds now in my own sample/preset folders
Cheers
