Novation!!! I have owned an SL49 Compact and an have an SL49 MkII; both were fantastic. I don't even use automap. Having an LED screen is worth it even without their integrated software.
Unless you want to spend 800 dollars - then I can't recommend anything more than Akai's 88key fully weighted controller. Akai's controllers in general are pretty good - the 88 key, in particular, has fantastic weighted action. It's a joy to play.

If you are pro player you can use Korg (Outside show's and those) .
If its just for produce music in your studio you can use any cheap keyboard you find around , The real quality its not about what keyb' you have , This is just no matter (This is more about knowledge) . I have 'Miditech Midistudio - 2 Pro key' , Buy it 6 years ago (1000 Nis) Do the work fine No complaint .
So we understand in here that there no point to spend alot of money on keyboards And better put it on a soundcard and a monitors and some good modern vst's .

well, the 110€ m-audio wont break after 1 year... the
difference in prices is in the "hammer mechanics".
if you want real piano feeling, you have to pay for it... (nothing to do with psy)
but if you just want to play the keyboard, dont buy
expensive, like cardinals cartel said... and it wont break
after 1 year, it has a quite good rating for such a cheap peace.
and... if you have NO IDEA about pianos or keyboards, go and test some. its all about
the mechanics (hammerd action etc)... then you can decide for your self if its worth
to pay more. www.soundcloud.com/orgytime |

Akai MPK blows the SL MK2 out of the water and is much better quality workmanmship, there is no competition really.

Im trying be nice But this is a nonsense .
If you ever opend a keyboard and look inside you see this is not somthing big or complicated (Usualy ones in a year i clean it from inside) , At the summer time we clean it every week (Outside dust) - Natures partys and those .
I make you a video today and show/Prove you that you are wrong , As i already have said this is no matter . So you will see how all work great with ton of dust on (No 1 year .. No 2 , No 3 .. 6 years !) .

I recommend rolands a800 pro if your not only interessted in production but also learning to play the piano.
Better keys then novation SL MK2.
Solid construction and good quality knobs, faders.
