vegetal is absolutly rite, HP are solid laptops, and go for one with the least frills and things, lenovo are solid too
but its worth saving a little longer, and investing in a mac

I think i figured out why alot of people find Macs to be of sucha solid quality, apple never admits problems with their products No seriously i do think that is the case. They have finally admitted that there are problems with the harddrives, last time it was the GFX, that we know of

Doesn't matter if you buy a mac or a pc...

Processors in these times are so powerful. That the issue about mac being better should be considered as pure propaganda. Besides, windows has been improved very much since many years... On the academie where I go... I am very amazed by the problems mac users run into constandly. They constanly run into problems. And it's really a laugh!

Lenovo are build like tanks... Toshiba, in the stores here give the most powefull engine for the cheapest price. HP also good... I own one, and never ever it let me down!

If you only run plugins try to buy the best processor you can with the budjet you have... I would go for an I5 or I7

hehe, sorry, im not with that. sure the processor power is nearly the same today. the reason for using a mac is simply he OS and not the engine, which sure was for years far better than PC or windows systems. but today the fuck around with intel cpu, so it´s not the big deal anymore.

i´d go for mac, they´re not more expensive than a "good" pc laptop. i had pc for years and wow, at the end i smashed that shit with a sledgehammer to get that shit out of my face. there will always be one half telling you pc is quite fine and the other half like me, telling you this is the biggest shit one can support.

for me its just the fact that i never had any of these f*#kin pc issues again. no virus detected (im daily online, my pc used to get this shit even without internet connection?¿) for years im using it now, no hardware crashes, software crashes any other issues.
if a mac breaks, it´s simply a part of the hardware which is changed during minutes to hours (it´s not like with my pc looking for years (!!!) what could be wrong with it), everything running fine after. everything is just plug and play, drag and drop, simpliest way possible and safest to the user.

anyways, wont go on here, like you see, im no fan of windows and this pc shit. i quite often wonder if people try to tell me they never had any issue with their pc..... sure depends on what you´re using it for.

pretty usual reason why both dont work like we need it is simply the user behind

I had Pc/Notebooks all the time for playing live ... and all my pcs somewhen made troubles (overheating/bluescreen of death)
I realy liked my HP dv6000 untill this point ...
never had any problems for 4 years ...ad then they suddenly started ... but i think 4 years was quite long life for a laptop ...because i used it a looootttt ...

Now i bought macbook pro ...lets see if it works as eeryone sayes ...

sony vaio are solid laps...

i had one that may have 5 years or more i think, went to the ground a lot of times, used it it with no mercy and it is still here with me working perctly, running fl with a lot of channels with no latency and only thing i needed to do was put some more ram and activate smart disable...

also asus are great laps i think...the problem of the vaio is that the really are overpriced, asus are same quality if not better, for less money...or you can search for a refurbished one at ebay...

lenovos also seems to be very solid laps...the thinkpad, i just didnt like the screen of it...not so bright for my taste...

anyway i thing i will keep with my vaio until the day it dies..now i m thinkin in investing in a new daw, im between cubase 5 or live8, will try live8 demo soon           ``We shall not cease from exploration - And the end of all our exploring - Will be to arrive where we started - And know the place for the first time.``

I aint no trust Sony with their VAIOs. Seen two new notebooks which had to be sold or sent back to manufacturer because of strange behaviour. And these loads of crappy software they sell you instead of something useful...

Is it really this difficult to make good laptops or do they want you to buy a new one every 2 years?           soundcloud.com/supergroover
