Need help with midi in Reason when rewired into Logic

I am having some trouble with properly rewiring Reason into logic audio. I can set up the rewire channels in logic and stream audio from Reason no problems when using rewire but I can't get any midi control in Reason, only logic.
I'm using an Evolution MK-249C USB midi controller keyboard and I can use it fine in Logic or Reason separately, but I can't get any midi communication through to reason when it's setup as a rewire slave to logic. So I was hoping that somebody here has had some experience with this matter and could kindly guide me on how to send midi from logic through Reason.
I have another question also. When setting up the rewire channels in logic before lauching Reason, should the rewire channels be set up on Audio or Audio Instrument channels in Logic?

Rewire 1 doesn't allow MIDI control.
Rewire 2 allows.
only Logic 6 supports Rewire 2.
