Without a shadow of a doubt the Lead 1 rack. It won't do bass like Sylenth, but its one of the greatest synths for psytrance.
The Modular is brilliant as well, but it needs some work to get it all sussed if you are new to synths.

ACE - even in ten years, it will sound great and be really a unique synth plus not many producers seem to use it. Learn it in and out and get married with it

What about the 2X ? What the diference between them? Doesn't the X2 supposed to be newer model and more modern ?
Thanks |

yep newer, with news dac, more voice , sound a bit different..
i would say as beginner if you go the nord route, just pick the one you find the cheapest and in good condition between nord 1, 2, 2x.
i dont know if their price are the same or increased but last time i checked you could get a nord 2 with key for around 400 /500 euros and the rack for around 250.
but be sure you like the sound , if you are after virus ,sylenth kind of caractere you may be disapointed.
if you like old logic bomb, early gms ,early infected synth sounds ...maybe some have more recent example you will probably enjoy a lot. |

it s funny you replace all the nords in some tunes buy some virus or sylenth, and you would have instanenly something more cheesy / commercial tune. the nord caractere keep the music less commercial ,less pop, more underground ,more intresting to me.
years ago i would have picked the virus as my goto over a nord but now i m back to the opposite, taste change and we got overdosed of virus and many plugins that sound close to it, thats probably why... i really loving nord lead sound back. |

The Nord Lead 1 has DACs with less bit depth, which give it a grittier sound over all. The 2X is also a great synth.
At this point get the cheapest one.
I use my Nord Lead 1 in every track I make...lots of times. It just has that digital ripping sound.
Its one of them synths that you will always use in tracks because they sound very unique...and on top of that, there are so many sounds from the past that blew me away and if I want to make music that sounds like the music that blew me away, getting the exact same synth always helps.

It sounds much better than any commercial vsti that i tried!
Get some cheap hardware like Dave Smith Mopho for your cash.

Better than Omnisphere?

Love this one , helped a lot when started producing and had no clue about how to make a decent bass line .
I tried Diversion and I really liked it , I still have 2 weeks for the salary so I may change my mind but for now my favorite still Sylenth1 and now also thinking about Diversion .
Thanks a lot to everyone for posting , really help me |

dcam synth are really nice too , some of the best plugins , sit well ,cut well..,dont muddy the mix easily like synth like massive or zebra can imo.
i made a thread in the soft section with what synth cut /sit the best some months ago.; from my test dcam was right on top as beeing ones that need less processing to sound right to me, for modern sounding punchy mix with zero muddiness..a few other like largo also deliver nice clean sound that sit well. synth like massive zerba i like them a lot, but i find it more diffiuclt to get a clean mix like synth i mentionned, sylenth is good too for this
check strobe for example
