f#$%&@# kernel.dll
makes a lot of trouble.
you have to repair it.
try www.rottor.net to find it & replace the old one.
hope it works 4 you.

try another version of Cubase
try the newest one it should work
it works good with XP so there is mo reason it will not work with win2000 |

al tip, u mayby installed cubase to win98 or other, then upgraded the system to win2k.
this way things don't work.
the error says : "the system i was installed on is not here ... what do i do ?!?!?"
you need to backup your plugins, remove them (all),
then remove cubase - all of it (make sure nothing is left in the registry - if you don't know how to do this - RTFM on the subject)
then get the latest release of cubase you can.
or maybe you should try v.5.0r6
