Well, I just would like to ask which monitor should I buy that costs about $200,00/$250,00.

I´m from Brazil and monitors here are very expensive, I would have to import from somewhere like US and everything above this price would be too much for me.

Thanks

Ill second the rokits,
dynaudio have a good rep as well. at the end of the day you have to hear some yourself , if you can get to a big city go and check some out is the only way - take your favourite cd with you . what tyope of music do you make ? I love some braziliam music especialy some of the drum and bass .

Ho !

I'm facing this same dillema down here
As I can see in the local stores (in são paulo city..the biggest around) it only have crap sansons, some beringhers truth's, bx5's, bx8's...some tapcos...and verryyyy expensive mackies (624,824)...I can't see any alesis,,dynaudios or genelecs in this stores...so I plan to "import" my first pairs of active monitors ( I friend of mine will bring them to me from london)

so....my question is ? with a very similar budget (some between 200-400 dollars) what can I get ? Wich brands do you guys recommend in this price range ?? I seeking some active monitors with good freq range (thinking in 50Hz-22kHz)

I have a little small room 5m²..not accustically treated...and produce trance (psy/prog), chillout and sometimes acustic music with vocals and instruments like guitars and stuff (lots of percussions also)

so...can you guys recommend some neat shop in london for my friend to visit ? and can you recommend some fucking good monitors for my budget ?

thanks verry much !

The Alesis Mk2 Active are quite old now & not as accurate as the other two IMO..So i would suggest your friend goes to the store takes along a CD & listens to these two & picks one which he thinks is better..           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic
