sorry makus, but i have to disagree here.
first of all the overall structure changes dramtically between 3/4 and 4/4. usually everything is organized in 8 bar patterns (sure maybe 2,4 or 16 bars). with 4/4 you have 32 beats in 8 bars, with 3/4 there are just 24. try mixing a 4/4 track with a 3/4 one...
even more important: let's say we have a regular k-bb bassline in 4/4. now change your sequencer to 3/4. everything's still the same (except that the arrangement doesn't fit with the bars anymore, and that we don't want i think). with k-bb there is a bass hit on every 3th and 4th 1/16 of a beat. change to 3/4, but you are still on 150 bpm. that means every beat (k-bb) has still the same length and it has still the same amount of 1/16. so kick is on the 1st, bass on the 3th and 4th. the difference is that you just have 3 beats per bar. it's only hearable when you arrange the repeats on 6, 12, 24, 48 BARS. now triplets are similar, but they refer to the structure inside one BEAT. normally we divide one beat (=1/4) into 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 (that means by factor 2). now we can do the same thing by factor 3, and we have 1/12, 1/24, 1/48. thats the same STRUCTURE compared to 3/4 and 4/4. but now kick is on the 1st 1/12, bass on 2th and 3th. the difference is that the arrangement inside one BEAT has changed and kick defines the repeats of bass. that you can hear clearly.
your mistake is the position of bass notes. i can see that the background (don't know the correct english word) is on 1/32 on the 3/4 example. you placed one bass note on the 4th and the next on the 7th 1/32. regular would be on the (3th), 5th and 7th = k(b)bb. the placement of notes inside one beat has nothing to do with 3/4. on the tripplets example you have quantized to 1/64 with bass hits on the 6th and 12th 1/64. normally you have every (5th), 9th and 13th 1/64 = k(b)bb. i don't say that your rhythm is wrong but it's not usual and there are no triplets.
you have to quantize to 1/12, 1/24, 1/48. if bass hits are on x/64 there won't be any triplets.
even if i'm right my english is too bad to explain it proper. have a look here:
