fragletrollet, i called it tripplets, until a friend of mine told me, its called 3/4.

both sounds right, whats the difference?

using three hits per beat = 1/12 (on 4/4 bars or whatever) is called tripplets. (same for 1/24, 1/48...)

if a bar just has 3 beats (like kick) its a 3/4.

huge difference. 3/4 is not popular at all in electronic music but tripplets you can hear often in psy.
imo it doesn't make the music sound faster. try filter env of bass and especially percussion and leads. make 1/16 rythm with some 1/32. if it's not sounding fast enough change the rythm. also modulation of leads can add some 'speed'

ahh, now i understand hehe...

then vibe tribe did a mistake with the title of this song

its called "three quarters" --> 3/4 but there are tripplets and its 4/4

i reckon percussion very important. rolling percussion can give u an overall rolling effect. also mess with decay and sustain times on your envelopes. i find sharp snappy sounds can come over sounding very fast indeed.

Depends on which sequencer are you using. Usually you can set it up in the piano roll.

Look for "1/16" and change it to "1/12"
