Why not do those "last finishin touches" on the individual track(s) that is/are causing the problem?

I know you try hard, you are eager to learn.

The cool thing with computers is you can recall your mix and adjust/fix the individual tracks. Its good to do a bounce at the end of each session though, for a reference.

I reckon ~d2~ should leave his day job cause he does seem to know something about production...I've also been taught to keep the master fader clear of any processing and leave that to the mastering engineer.

Fix your problems at the source. The cleaner your signal is at the source, the cleaner your mix.

+1

Though sometimes the EQ that is built into a synth is not very good and in cases where EQ is needed I would personally rather use a plug-in.

I don't yet earn much money, but I knew it would be that way. I do have a Qualification as well, but to be honest it isn't worth much.

Never really stop learning. whether it be reading or listening.

Because I work with bands I do get introduced to music I have never heard before. I love that part of it.

Cutting 90 degrees is impossible to achieve unless you can calculate the future, you can get close to 90 but not 90 exactly

Would u care to explain this??

Ok so here is the deal: basicly you can achieve a rectangular function (total removal of frequencies at a given frequency)and a linear phase with a sinc-filter function.
BUT you end up with a infinite delay which isn´t so comfortable not even for someone with low standards

What is the best type of EQ to adjust the tracks on the song like kick bass etc? The Eq I have on the FL mixer can do this or if i use another eq plugin i will have better results?           ``We shall not cease from exploration - And the end of all our exploring - Will be to arrive where we started - And know the place for the first time.``

Do you really need another digital EQ?

Imho one would need just 3 Eq`s..one linear phase, one clean sounding for clinical stuff and one colourful like the tritone ones..

EQUO plugin in FLstudio can completely cut frequencies....           Projection makes perception. The world is what you gave it, nothing more than that. It is a witness to your state of mind, the outside picture of an inward condition. As a man thinketh, so does he perceive- Anonymous

Hi fellow trancers.

Anyone know of an EQ that can cut a frequency by 90 degrees ?

Like I want to COMPLETELY remove all frequencies below a certain variable.

All eq's I have looked at can only make a more or less soft curve...

PLUR!

The problem is, the steeper the cut-off the more you get something called the "Gibbs Phenomenon", where basically the frequency curve starts to undulate near the cutoff frequency, check this pic to see what i mean:
