Tracklist:

1/The Awakening 03'08"
2/Noizy Family 05'17"
3/Bug Sqad Dub 05'21"
4/Submachine 08'47"
5/Swamppeople 08'38"
6/Funkfactor 07'53"
7/Nature Nation 07'51"
8/Porno Poltergeist 09'59"
9/Fresh Flavour 08'06"
10/Muddyterrainian 08'17"

This is what what i can easily call stomper stuff, big, fat, hard or heavy kicks are first caracterisms of this album.

In fact, the kicks reminds me Miranda's ones in her first album 'Phenomena' but much heavyer.

After some minutes of familiarization , it's very simple to enter into the musical universe of Necton.

The fear of a too much homogene album appears at begining but quickly vanishs in the air with the presence of some dubby progressive stuffs (tracks 2 & 3) in a slower tempo.

Nevertheless major part of this album is constitued by some dancefloor kickin, and these 2 swedishes people succeed in producing some evolution between each of their tracks, some are more funky (funkfactor), some got more worked uplifting rythmic with efforts put on harmony (Muddyterrainian), others are a nice compromise between stomp kicks at its best & subtle dubby harmony (Submachine) or simply killer stomper energic dancefloor
( Nature Nation or Fresh Flavour) with also some 303 lines in Nature Nation.

The first track 'The Awakening' isn't a real track, It's more an intro explicating the necton's musical universe. It's composed of 80% of speaking and the last 40 seconds some very nice notes are played at piano & acoustic guitar but too short (It would have merited to be a real full track).

To conclude, this album will surely make more of one person dance on the floor.

Highlights : Submachine & Funkfactor
Others good tracks 2,3,9,10

Mark :8/10

for me this album is much more than kicking stuff, since half of it is a realy great dubbey journey into psy-noize-farm. second part also nice but less than a downbeat for me.
but i prefer the side project - slugger.           Believe your soul !

One of the best albums exploring the darker side of trance. Prior to this release, I didn't like Necton all that much, but this is just great. One of my favorite albums of 2002.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

Necton album stands out.

Truly makes you dance, whether you are in a bad or good mood.

The general feeling is of darkness, but it realy is not dark at all, !!It has as much live generating vibe as i can think of.

Transforming. ((Much more so still, if heard form beginning to end.))

And last but not least, as said above a huge huge kick and funky rythms = dance groooove
girls and boys happy !
