Well, since Stanford were kicked out earlier and didn't make it as far as I'd like, I can honestly say - at least UCLA lost. Next year looking bleak for Stanford as the Lopez brothers will be out for a draft. UCLA's 3 straight final fours (a hard to replicate feat in college ball) may come to an end as Kevin Love will be drafted (IMO, his game's not developed enough to put him in the top 5, something proven with Memphis's smackdown of UCLA) and big men in the NCAA are at a premium.

Anyways, the finals are up ahead, Kansas, the early favorite that everyone knew was going to be this good, after DOMINATING in the final four, are getting to the finals pumped and primed, Brandon Rush having proved that when the chips are in the table, he brings his best game to the floor, and a high-pressure defence that proved very efficient (and highly oriented to UNC's offence) that keeps proving itself...

... but, Memphis weren't even supposed to make it this far - yes, they're a #1 seed, but this is the first time in tournament history that the final four is all #1s... and many thought they were the weakest of the four, and they have been underappreciated for very long. Rose's swiftness along with CDR's sharp movement and some depth in the 1-3 positions seem to be built much better to deal with Kansas's high pressure defence than UNC was (they could find the empty spots much easier and take it appart), and physically, the match-up situation seems favorable.

Both teams are used to win. Both teams are used to dominating. Both teams made the way to the finals look easy. IMO, it all comes down to determination, and despite my sympathy towards Memphis, Brandon Rush seems more focused than Rose, and is far more experienced. Rose may be the better NBA prospect, but that won't matter until draft night.

My gamble: Kansas by 5, and Memphis will weep as Rose gets drafted in the #2 spot - and with a combination of bad luck and timing, will be picked up by Miami, where he'll play behind Williams and Wade in the guard positions, from which he will develop to be another slashing guard and eventually become a solid player at the highest levels, and Memphis will go back to being just another champion among it's local conference, but nothing more, and will wait another 20 years for the next final four.

What I want to happen: after triple overtime, Rose breaks championship game records, scoring 48 points, 22 assists and 9 steals, including the buzzer-beater to give Memphis it's 1 point victory, in what is considered the most dramatic championship game ever. Memphis scouts find the prospects to fill his shoes in, and will see us again in a year.

UNC were my favorites early on because they're last year's team only better, it's Hansbrough's last chance, Lawson and Green are very tough to defend (on the NCAA level), and their bench is very deep... Basically - they seem to have an answer for everything except bad days (which seemed to end early in the season for them)... But UConn have been outstanding all season long.

But UNC are a well oiled machine. But UConn have what it takes.

UConn had to lose in the semis and waste my money. UNC did everything but gang-rape the opposition in the first ten minutes of the finals, but that came as no surprise because the only team that may have matched up with them was UConn.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222
