I don't need FM8 because I have Sytrus (though the preset morphing'd be great), but I've been playing around with the Massive demo and it sounds good. There are very few other synths like it on the market. Friggin' NI's skyhigh prices.           When rain dries, clouds form.

I just get this feeling in my gut of blandness when I see NI's stuff, it just doesn't connect with me for some reason.

You mean visually, the GUIs? IMO they have good GUIs, without useless glitter. It's the sound that counts.           When rain dries, clouds form.

no not the gui's, just something I can't place my finger on, I can't explain it, I just don't feel so good when I look, at or mess with their plugins. Sorry I can't give you a real answer but I don't understand it myself. I think we are just not meant to be.

agree with jivamukti that the Cytrus is quite equivalent to the FM7...

Have them both, they are great.. frankly the massive gets my vote as one of the new synths to lookout for... lovely sound to it...
