amen. the solution to everything really. things like track names will just come to you at the strangest times. you'll see a sign, hear someone talking around you, or maybe something deeper and personal will happen.
my opinion, it really doesnt matter if the tie between the track and the title make sense to people. as long as it means something to you, its cool.

i think track names are vital in the sense is that before one even listen to the song , the track name influences ones feelings or thoughts towards that track....ao i think a track name needs to have some revelance and meaning towards the track itself...when i start writing a track i usually give it any old name like...."fucking cool new loop2", hehe, after awhile it isnt just a loop anymore and it starts becoming a track , then i rename it , towards the feeling and theme of the track....often the sample i might use helps with this , or the feeling of the track itself...for example made a pretty hectic trible trance song, very dynamic and full of energy...but i had made this one synth sample that sounded like bubbles and water running like lava...and in the break, this sample comes in..after complete silence , before the track goes off...so i just called it "Evil Tribe Bubbles", ummmmm, also sometimes before i even make a track , i write the whole track out on paper...often starting with a title, then , and i write the track like a story, writing in musical and effect details , automation etc , befor ei even start to physically make the track...so yea..guess one should just think about the track itself , and name it after its theme...or some recurring element with in the track...but remeber track names are important, ppl judge tracks by their names before even hearing them....i know i do...hehe

also just remebered....it can be qiute cool to make a track name up before even starting the track and then write the tune , ....after first making the track name up....its kinda cool how a track name can influence the musicn or how the track turns out in the end

everytime i hear a track,a story starts building up in my head......sometimes i think that the track name really matches the track,as in, it is a introduction to the story.........eg-brain forest by neuromotor.........
but some are really mismatched....like damage(psychodrive),but i guess it must have made sense to the artist........so i personally i think that if you sit and listen to a track and keep thinking, what should i name it?it wont work.......let your brain wander around,it will definately pull out something.........the track will trigger a reaction that can be put down on paper....... |

Nowadays i have an idea how I want the new track to be like.. but that can alter a lot till its all finnished.
the name of the track can be based upon a number of things. what im coming to think about when i hear the track, some catchy word-game which is somehow connected to the track, i also keep a list with killer names hehe |

I always keep a pad and paper with me for the purpose of jotting down names, titles, or random words. I look at the individual words or make combinations thereof at a later time when I call upon them for say example to name a mixtape cd or something like that.
Lots of names and ideas pop into my head while I am driving, sometimes listening to tracks and sometimes driving in silence with my head clear.

totally. i should keep paper too. sometimes something will come to me and i'll forget by the time i have a chance to write it down.
i like how sometimes a thought will lead to another thought which will lead to another thought... then it'll hit you. "thats a cool title" or whatever. sometimes its just so sudden it surprises you.
if you cant tell, i like this sorta thing.

i agree with the other people here... Titles come automatically or they don't come... For the people who's mother tongue isn't english u can consider using ur own language or dialect, it can have a nice effect, and ur titles will be more recognisable (example: texas faggott use their home language for their titles) |
