I always have the most difficult time figuring out what to name my tracks after they are done..
I used to name the tracks based on the sample or the feel of the track, but I don't really do that as much anymore and am having a hard time coming up with names that are somewhat related to the track. Anybody got a system that they use that helps them?

i have always found it fun naming things (websites, essays, songs, bands, etc.). here are a few things i do:
1. pick a word related to the track and mix up the letters to form a new word. it doesnt even have to bea real word. i think this is what you did with your name, mubali. am i right?
2. this one is pretty complicated actually... i made a track that was originally called "summoning," as in summoning a demon. i thought about what was involved in a stereotypical summoning. a pentagram was the first thing that came to mind. then i got out a map of my state, ohio. did the geometry to make my hometown in the center of a pentagram. then i took the 5 towns that were on the tips and that was my title. wasnt that fun? the idea was to imply that i was summoning a "demon" in my hometown. that track has been lost for a while, i dont even remember the letters. all that work for nothing. (i hope you understood that). you can take that same idea and apply it to the idea behind your song.
3. if all else fails, use a random name genorator on the net.
be creative. it doesnt matter if no one gets the title. as long as it means something to you. also, the weirder the title the more people you get asking about it. so you get to explain fun/complicated things like number 2 above. The IsraTrance MySpace Group:

I keep a long .txt list where i write down song names whenever they bump into my head....that way i open the file when i need to give a name to a track and choose the most appropriate

Personally i tend to just think about what the track could mean... and then put that into words. or just think of two words or more which sound cool together and can also mean something. Certain words as well just sound cool like: Pathogen (IMO) because the sound of the word resebles a "kick - open hihat - snare" feel haha
Or just open a dictionary randomly, find a word you like and repeat for longer names...

No worries... I found out it was a town in Rwanda later...
Mubali was the name of one of my characters in a role playing game (Werewolf the Apocolypse) And actually it was M'Bali... but when I started spinning, I didn't want people to just call me Bali... So I added the u in between...
So yes, I am a retired gamer....

my problem is that i dont have enough tracks to give my names to. i look through the english dictionary to find a couple of lovely words that i didnt know before and set something up with them most of the times i get inspired by something i read about somewhere tho, latest tune i named after the waterfall "devils throat" in brazil.
try to not think too hard about it. Anakoluth A Pebble in Your Eardrum's Shoe since 2001!
