Its on backroadsmusic.com and amazon.com. I'd recommend the former - they are one of the rare
brick-n-mortar shops in America which supports ambient/chillout music. They have to do online business too to sustain themselves. |

Just got my paws on the CD and had a listen 2 this...
Of the 14 tracks,
'2012', 'Blue Magnetic Ocean',
'Halo', River Goddess & 'Waters of Life'
have appeared on various Interchill compilations over the years...so these are relatively good tracks that most of us have heard....and got excited about
So I'll talk about the 'new' trax...
'Pure' is epic...bubbling , slo beat chill and probably the best new track which would appeal to DJ's on this forum, reminds me a bit of CBL.
Unfortunately theres a few bummers most notably 'Cloudbusting' which sounds a bit like indie rock from the 80's with its driving bassline and jangly guitar...not bad, just terribly out of place on this disk
'7 Generations' is back to form...kinda tribal new age 44 with some guitars and lots of tension and perhaps a overuse of crashing cymbals which kinda spoils it 4 me..
'Cerenomy' is a brooding, calling upon the spirits with a hint of 'good and bad ugly' theme ...ok
'Ninth Sphere' is another highlight, slo breakbeat loop with dubbed out big reverb on the hits , some gentle melodies that really takes this tune on almost 5 minute journey, could have been tad longer...
'Innerworld' is a 44 feat Dawn uttering the word 'sky' followed by some big cymbal crashes again...
Innerworld sounds like new age trance
'in Between orbits' comes across as an interlude to the ambient tracks to follow...interrupted percussion and a gentle melacholic melody line tell the story.
of the 4 ambient tracks only 2 are new but short & sweet...
so i dunno...i think mystical sun needed to get this off his mac so he could get cracking on new material and judging by the stronger tracks there is something to look forward to from this artist. |
