We all have our prefferred styles, some like it full on Israeli, some love dark twsited shite and others like minimal progressive or techtrance... what I have never understood is that for ascene that preaches peace, love, unity and respect there ain't much of it going around. Just look at our festivals, a different stage for each different style. How ridiculous, why not have a single stage or two and put each style in at the right time? Why not have mixed compilations of varyng styles in good order? One thing I love about the old compilations is you never new what you were going to get next... Iboga and D.S seem to push it abit with the next Digiboga compilation mixing full on and proggy... stope bashing each other and unit, the sooner we do this I think the sooner we get back to the spirituality of the scene...

well you have some points... but on the other hand, you gotta accept that some people just dont work with certain music.. I dont work with full on.. its not about bashing, its about my subjective musical brain, it just doesnt like full on.. So if there is a compilation with full on in it, I wont buy....
and about the 2 or more stages.. whats the problem with that? Its actually nice imo that you can choose what to listen.. sometimes you are just in the mood for some music, and if at that exact time you can go to a stage that is playing what you want, then great..
but I know what you mean that there is a lot of separatism and elitism regarding genres.. but that shoudlnt mean we all have to listen to all genres and like them |
