This came in for us in the last moment before the light broke in to the black dungeons we were spending our time in in the end of the 80s. The party and the trance experience where there, just looking for a way out. You can say that for me and some of my friends (and quite a few others, I'm sure) this song ignited the fuse that blew up the dark walls around us and freed us...

Then Total Eclipse did this 10 years later (it sounds pretty bad, but no one cared then):

And whenever it was played you knew right away on the dancefloor who's been around for long. When Loic played it @ Soulclipse in Turkey, I could see and feel clearly the scattered dots on the huge dancefloor that where there when the original was still playing in the dark clubs (the gray hair also helped ). It was a very strong moment.

Sending chills down my spine even now after all this time... don't know about dungeons, the first thing that comes to mind is Anjuna

maybe I should remake one of these classics sometime...

Thank you Shahar.           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

Thank you, Shahar!
I've heard it in Detroit's Goth clubs. The original, not the remix. Speaking about Goth clubs – they do qualify as dungeons. Is that what you meant or was it just a metaphor for the spirit of late ‘80s? Both?

By my estimate, we’re more or less reliving ~82-83 now (at least in the US). Could be ’86-87, not 100% sure. Wonder what light will break into our dungeons…

Well, they were called differently here- punk/new wave- but it doesn't matter. Dark clubs full of smoke and alchohol fumes and angry confused and at times lonely people with black cloths and army boots.

Well, I'm just hoping for a 30 years cycle to be kept- so after the 60s & 90s, I can expect the 20s. I'm willing to wait if it will be as good.           ---------------------------------------------

^ This is something my brother and I talk about too. What will the 'next' music be? It's exciting to think about but at the same time, a total mystery. It seems like everything's been done at this point, and whatever exists now is so known how could anything new come of it?

Anyway, my pre-trance, just before discovering trance I was engrossed in the heavy:

and the rawness:
