Hi
My parents are visiting a friend in Helsinki in July (I am green with envy!) and want to know of any parties or interesting music shows they should check out.
They are musicians and music lovers, both classical and jazz, with my mom following my punk band in the 80s to actually write her masters thesis on the genre. So they're both familiar and interested in music of all sorts.
They would love to hear what Finland has to offer and I promised them they wouldn't be disappointed!

Hello. July is the "official" vacation month in Finland so some things are happening more and some less!
http://www.konemetsa.net is the biggest (minuses are a lot of cops and some standard full on) electronic music festival 2-5.7.2009.
About other music... nice things happening now and then although alot of people tend to be at their summer cottages in july. Helsinki welcomes your parents!
Night clubs/live gig places to recommend: Redrum, 6.Linja, Playground, Tavastia (rock etc.), Semifinal (ug, indie), Virgin Oil co. |
