I did this first track of mine with the help of an online production course from quantziecourses.com. There I analyzed a track I liked and built an own track with own sounds with a smilar arrangement than the analyzed one. I did everything by myself, but had helpful videos and feedback about what I did.
The track is aimed to be psytrance, but of the slower kind.
This is still work in progress, as I hope to get a lot of Feedback here and from other places, with which I can hopefully make the track even better.
Cheers,
Kryten

Well, first thanks for the feedback, but tbh I dont understand what exactly you mean.
The track you posted...well seems like a different kind of psy (I dont really like that track, but meh...)...sounds pretty dark to me.
As I wrote, I intended to make some kind of slower psy...more progressive like and melodic. I did not try to build a tune with a fat or fast beat and lots of weird stuff in it....

I liked it, actually. It's a bit different. Almost more on a chillout side. I hope my first track will sund as good.
The pad and the bass were mismatched for the first couple of minutes. I don't know if you did it on purpose, so it all resolves harmonically later. It may be annoying to some people.

Yay Kryten! Grats on posting your first track I look forward to listening to it when I'm at a place that doesn't block soundcloud. I like writing slower psy too, isn't it fun? If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the feedback!
Actually the track feels a bit slower than I intended it to be, but I like it still. Wont make people wanna dance but its ok for a first try I guess
About the mismatch: What part exactly do you mean? At first I thought you mean the darker, lower pad at the beginning...but theres no bass playing.

Really solid first track!
I really like it. The swirly pad after the break is very nice.
I feel it could be improved a good deal if you add another instrument with a different timbre after the break, or alter the main synth's patterns a bit more
The little riff you use at 6:35 would sound really cool if it had a little bit more grit or fuzzy character to it and maybe some stereo effects...or a bit more synth modulation and gain
could stand to have a bit more percussion going
but yeah, mix sounds good on my monitors! great job keep at it!

Thanks again for the feedback...such stuff is exactly what I need to improve my work.
With the riff: I already tried to give it some more grit...doubled the track and added a vocoder with noise on it and widened it a bit. Ill look into doing a bit more there.
I used Ableton Live for this.
Mostly native Plugins, like Operator and some Analog(for noise sweeps mostly)
Also I used Zebra2 on two sounds, but those are smaller ones...I still have to get into zebra more
For EQ I use fabfilter pro-Q, also I used the demo of Pro-C for the parallel compression. Bus comp was done with the Ableton one, preset "mix gel".
The only other 3rd party plug I used is "mda image", it can really widen sounds far more than in Operator alone or with Utility....
For the most drums I used samples from VEC and I think 2 or three from the Ableton Library(percussion mainly)
