So, I'm making my first track that might actually come out somewhat good. FL Studio says that I've used eight hours on this project, which seems actually quite little but I've never really made any songs before this. I'd really appreciate any feedback on the structure, mixing, chord proggression, melodies etc.
Since I have no musical education whatsoever, I need all the help I can get
The bassline is made with Sylenth's Moog preset and the sitar and choir are soundfonts so I can't really modify those. At least I don't know how =D
//edit the structure is nowhere near the final, I'm trying to make this at least five minutes long so I'll add an breakdown after the first two minutes or so

-I dont like the beginning, try better making an intro.
-Bass should be more fat and kick more clean.
-Percussion is a bit noisy aswell..
-I liked that voice/pad but its too loud imo.
-Use some fade in/out just before 1:33 to get more power there.
-Nice lead there but work it a bit more with some filter and FX, also its TOO loud.
-If its really your first track its not that bad so congrats!
P.S. You NEED absolutely musical education if you want to improve because Psy-Trance is music

What VST would you recommend for doing the bassline, I find the sylenth kinda hard and I've only got two sylenths but it eats up all of my CPU even tho my computer isn't really that shitty. I'm not that good with using vsts so an easy one with maybe a preset I could mod would be nice

Well that depends totally in what kind of bass you are looking for, personally I use Alien 303 and Sylenth 1 too, Sylenth is way better imo, that moog preset I use it too but needs to be tweaked a bit, specially try linking filter cutoff with note velocity to make it sound like "bBB" if you know what I mean.. Also on its channel add a good EQ, not fruity parametric eq (it sucks hehe) and some bass booster like those of the waves bundle pack (maxx bass, R bass). But do you have problems with Sylenth glitching? It eats up my CPU and everytime I start playing everything it makes a small glitch during the first beat. About that bBB, I have no idea what you're talking about D:

i'm a big fan of the Muon Tau Pro for basslines. easy to use and sounds great, powerful, heavy, etc. not free, but its only about 30 or 40 USD

Agree with everything except the intro, in my opinion there isnt any intro keep working, gl!

I've tried Tau Pro but I couldn't really figure out how to do a bassline that'd sound good with it, still an amateur :|

Thanks! If by the leads you mean the Sitar that starts around 1min 13sec and continues after that, it's a Soundfont found in pack called Sounds of India. As for the melody, I just took my bassline and based on it's chords, I just tried to make something that fitted it

The project is also pretty tidy and stuff, took time with that but it has a whole lot of automations so it's somewhat stuffed

for bass? if u want a light cpu bass... VB-1 is the choice, but lots of outer editing like equing it, FX on it.. so its not allways the same...
other opinino? remove wav bank from FL and delete it..
