This is one of my first not dark tracks:

style, sounds and quality.

minor scales and chords + such bassline = dark imho
one thing i like in your track is atmosphere ......
you make tracks that seems one story which show your musical sense(very rare nowadays) but your sound not good as always ..... you need monitors .... sit on them 24 hours per day........then you will have quality music ...\
about sound
just to remind you ,,, i always compare or refference to my track first and then to good artists not some junk that's why it is so negative ..... |

so...!!
i like the idea and the sounds (voices,guitar..etc)
i didnt like the bass at all not so good sound or rythem for that track
i didnt like the kick no punch
and the hihat to loud
in my opinion the mix is a bit confused you cant make sense whats going on
do better eq and try to give more space to each sound cos they sound like they are fighting for headroom
overall i cant sey that i hate it its nice good idea and with a little care its gonna be a very nice atmospheric track that kicks arse
keep it groovy

to help you out EYB , i would suggest you to listen to The Delta - Pop once again and think about your track in compare to it .....

This track is the result of 5-6 hours work, so of course it needs some finetuning and it is absolutly un-mixed.
@Sektor666 i am using monitors 
The sounds is maybe not good ripped to mp3
or what do u mean with bad quality - the wholethink or just artifakts or what?
Minor yes, but i said 'not dark', i did not say 'morning track'
I don't know if i got that Delta track, coz i put all there cds far away in my cupboard for music
I don't really like their music, so i don't know if i gonna compare with that track, but ill compare with some stuff i like.
@Orange as said above mix isn't finished yet
Don't u like generally this style of bassline or do u think this sucks with this song?

EYB ,, recently i made a test ... i took Son Kite CD (Colours) and compress it to 64kbs WMA ... you know what ... it still sound great ... little high cut but still sound great.....so the main idea of it was to proove my friend that 128kbs mp3 files is pretty enough to get an idea about sound .......
your sound is not natural and bad mixed ...that is your problem .... not format or bitrate ......
high percussion is not heard at all
atmoshpere pads are okay
bass sounds like cheap VSTi
kick has click(wanted click) that make it sound bad
bass not mixed with kick
it's like you play three different tracks together ..
if you work in FL , you can send me FLP file that contains 16bar of your main mix ...with perccusion atmoshpere , kick and bass ... i will help you to mix it ... then you will understand bit more ...i hope i can help ....
don't be affraid i do not produce psychedelic trance or fullon so i won't steal you ideas have many of them inside head too ....
PM me for my MSN address if you want i can also send you demo of my song to help you understand ...and show what i do in music ...
it is very important for you now to learn how to make natural sounding from someone because you can learn it alone and forget about music aka your great atmosphere in tracks ,,, then you will make only sound design and no music as happen to me for long time .....

first of all you cant follow this bassline it sounds like its from another track and its not very inspiering
whatever sector says i dont like the kick it sounds dead
the atmosphere is realy nice indeed
but you cant follow it cos you cant understand whats happening in the mix
as i said before its not so bad but it needs work and try to focus on making the sounds to stand out and be more clean and crispy
and change those basslines a groovy rytmic bassline would make this track more interesting cos you have some nice ethnik elements flowing dont kill it with that repetitive bassline
always thats my opinion and dont want to sound bad
keep it grooving man

U don't sound to bad, better say what u think and sound bad than lie to sound nice
So i changed the bass and the kick, the fx, the mix, the whole track for more psychedelicness.
Ill post a new demo later

hey eyb .. nice thing in here . the bassline is ok .... only thing it need to be more fat and law to fix onto the kick .. the atmospheres are really spookie ... i think its a bit dark .. := take off the dealy on the bassline .. your track .. seems to have some reverb on overall track take of a bit .. to be more clear and crystal ..
now the cleaning part .. u are making music ib fruity ? cubase ? logic ? ... well whatever the sampler u are using for percursion and some fx ... my advice .. start cleaning them with the envelopes .. cut the sustain .. give a tiny touch n the released .. and give the sound with the deçay ... start adding just a few values until u get the sound u whant .. without having all the rest of the frequencies that are not necessari ... in the mix u need to work more harder ,, try to compreess and get more EQ and try a more inteligent construction ..
well demo is too tiny to give a bether opinion .. so work mate .. u will be there heh
